  • has this happened to you?

    When i began to lose weight, the weight loss seemed to come from my below my breast and down. its like the top part of my stomach is getting flat but the lower part is still the same....it looks funny lol. but hey im glad im losing
    Starting Weight: 175.2
    Current Weight: 170.6

    Yep! From my shoulders to about three inches below my boob line - looking a LOT thinner in the mirror. Then there's my flabby belly all stretchmarked and fat looking.

    I have a feeling that my belly will be the last to go - and probably just because of the kids. I'm okay with that though.

    Honestly I'm okay with every weird thing that happens. Like how in 1 week I can "gain" 4 lbs, but know it's not fat or muscle, just water retention from adding more exercise in since my eating habits haven't changed. Or that my forearms are getting way thinner that I can overlap my thumb and pointer finger around my wrist, yet my batwings get saggier by the day, lol.

    It's a huge process that we're undertaking...our bodies are literally re-organizing themselves. It doesn't always happen in the way we want though.

    Mini Goals:
    Goal 1 - 10% (September 13th, 2009)
    Goal 2 - Pre-Pregnancy Weight with 2nd Child (September 27th, 2009)
    Goal 3 - 50 lbs down (December 1st, 2009)
    Goal 4 - Highest Pregnancy Weight with 1st right before c-section (February 20, 2010)
    Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child
    Goal 6 - 100 lbs down
    Goal 7 - Pre-pregnancy weight with 1st
    Goal 8 - Weight I met my husband
    Goal 9 - 150 lbs down
    Goal 10 - Weight in Grade 8
    Goal 11 - Weight in Grade 6

      LOL, Every place is skinny on me except my thighs. I have lost a bit of inches but that is the last part that looses.

        mine almost starts at top and bottom... I have skinny legs.... and they get skinnier.... (well the upper thigh isnt' skinny... but from midthigh down... i have bird legs)...

        and then my face.. neck... upper stomach area.... it seems to take forever to get the hip/saddlebag/love handle/ big fat belly area
        2-15-10 194.8 - highest ever!
        2-20-10 190.4 - new scale
        3-20-10 177.8 - 1 month
        5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

          PEYTONN, I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that has the thighs last to lose! It's my last problem area. And it just seems like I need to lose atleast 5 more lbs to see a difference there....I will get there, in time.

            OK, OK, Think Olive oil...(in Popye comics) These are my legs. My ankles go up to my crotch. When my (now adult) children were young, they bought a tape with the song "WHO'S THAT LADY WITH THE SKINNY LEGS?" It is very funny with a GREAT BEATand they used to play it and sing it at the top of their lungs in my (then old convertible with the top down)...much to the amusement of all passersby and drivers as well. I believe the last line goes something like...."Look at that lady with the skinny legs, nevermind, somewhere, someday, someone will take her...skinny legs and all". Amen to that.

              I started atkins in late november but every other week just sort of fell off the wagon and was not working out..late december I started to really follow it and added the gym from november to december I only lost like 7 lbs not following it right..from december to march 18 I lost 50 lbs give or take depending what mood my scale is on lol.

                  Mine is the opposite. The bottom got squishy and flatter but the top didn't so it's weird. Won't even discuss my arms. Short of surgery I dont' think they'll ever be normal again. They look horrible.

                    Fat loss is like a snow man melting. The last places to go are the places that one stores the most fat and has less capillaries going to those cells.

                      I am losing a lot right in the middle of my waist and around my back. I have always had a small waist so now it is looking really small. My pants are hanging but getting caught on my baby pooch. I am happy but I wish I could get a spot loss......It will happen.

                        When I lose large amounts of weight, I seem to develop holes where flab used to be. A chunk from my back, a few blobs from the thighs, so I think you are normal.

                          I agree with most here saying that it will happen in time the way YOUR body is suppose to lose the fat.

                          I would also add that certain excercises might help focus on specific body parts. I know leg lifts couldn't hurt your lower abdominals for example.

                            i'm chubby everywhere, but the first place to go is usually my waist.
                            i noticed when the weight first started coming off though, it was my face and neck. all of a sudden my neck felt longer.. as weird as that might sound.

                            the last place is my bloody thighs. UGH x 1000000000000. i've lost so many inches everywhere else, and they have only gone down by an inch. lol stupid things.

                              I loose from the top down-face,neck shoulders,then waist and so on....I don't care how and where it happens-- it's just happening!!!

                              I'm in my 4th week and still haven't weighted myself. I know I have lost--but I don't want to be dissapointed--so I'm going to the doctors on may 3--it'll be 4 weeks complete-and I'll see where I stand.
