  • Gains and losses....question

    Hi all

I am just starting to prepare myself for next weeks weigh in and I was wondering, after a good weight loss in the first week, how likely is it for a slight gain or a "no change" in the second?
    Whats your experience?
I know that in the long term, I will succeed with good losses, but obviously, at this moment in time it is all new and exciting and I am preparing myself for a less successful week, so that I do not go off track.
I do feel positive though about how I am doing. I have not 'cheated' once and I am eating the right amount of carbs!

No one else's experience matters. We all lose differently. You can have a "gain" from day to day ... weight naturally fluctuates.

That's why I like weighing daily ... I could see the patterns my body made, so I knew that a bump up wasn't a disaster (sometimes it meant a big drop within the next day or two).

Don't put so much faith in the scale ... it's just a tool.

Keep eating right ... you'll get there.

Definitely weigh, but also keep that tape measure handy! I hope you've measured yourself from day one! I did and redid it weekly. I noticed a small change each week even if there was no change or a gain on the scale because I was doing exercise and eating right. However I don't get big losses on the scale (hardly ever) because I am somewhat close to goal (I have 15lbs left to go) and so my expectations are pretty low. That is why the tape measure is my biggest ally in my journey! If I hadn't noticed that I had lost so many inches I would have given up. Though I did lose 5lbs the first week and nothing the second and so far nothing in the third either but I lost 1.5inches on each measurement the first week and .5inch each week thereafter so it's keeping me sane and on track. Just my two cents worth. But then again today is the end of my third week w/two weeks of induction and one week of OWL. BUT I also started weight training in the second week of induction so I expected there to even be a gain on the scale!

Based on your weight loss goals I highly doubt you will stall in week two. How long are you planning to stay on induction? More than the 2 weeks or will you move on? And Tre I assume you are a man?

Many people see a pause after induction but it should pass. My guess if you keep eating correctly you will see the weight drop off pretty consistently.

Your weight will fluctuate day to day but the most difficult part will be the closer you get to your goal.

        Best Wishes.

Yes I am a man, I have had a sneaky weigh today and have a 1 pound increase...too small to worry about at this stage and I am drinking lots of water! I also work shifts including 15 hour nights which may cause fluctuations!

1 lb is nothing! Don't worry about it unless it happens a few days in a row. It is no way a lb of fat since the day before!

I lose, then gain, and then lose again to the point below my last lowest weight. I think that is normal for some people.

Are you planning on staying on Induction?

I think gains are sometimes just going to happen... water retention... or whatever...
and right now.. I'm blaming mine on hormone pills they're making me take...
