  • Linda's Low Carb Menu shelf life questions

There are a few things that I have made and would like to make from Linda's site, but I'm wondering how long the shelf life is for some of them like the bbq sauce, the even better Heinz ketchup, and some of the salad dressings. Does anyone have any experience with keeping homemade sauces and condiments, specifically from Linda's recipes, in their fridge for longer than just a few days? My fear is that I would keep them too long and they would go bad since they wouldn't be laden with preservatives. Any thoughts?

I think a week for some would be the limit.

Ok great thanks. I know I won't eat 28 tbsp of ketchup in a week, lol, so perhaps I can freeze ingredients (if I need to) and mix em up later, since I can't freeze [most of] them.

You can always halve a recipe.

Right--what I meant by freezing would be the tomato paste and tomato sauce in the ketchup (I think that's the recipe), otherwise halving the recipes is the way to go.

You can certainly freeze tomato paste/sauce.

That's great to know. I'm not a big ketchup eater, but every so often I'd like some on my eggs or something else....same with bbq sauce.
