I have been on induction for one week and I lost 7 pounds!!! I went to put on my tight pants and they are still just as tight as ever! How is this possible? I would have thought that losing 5-7 pounds would have made my pants a little looser!?! Any thoughts?

Re: How is this possible???
I know, it's like that for me too. I'm down 8lbs and my clothes fit about the same too.
Did you happen to measure yourself before you began your diet?
I did, and I only have lost a half inch off my waist and 3/4 off my hips.
Don't worry, it'll happen. Just keep plugging along with what you are doing. Chances are it is more healthy than what you were doing, right?~Kristi

Yeah, just hang in there. If this is going to be our way of life now, we've got time to learn it well and enjoy the ride as we get smaller.

Re: How is this possible???
Sometimes we are losing that important-to-get-rid-of fat that is around our internal organs. This doesnt really seem to show in clothes sizes.
Or you could be losing from your arms or hands or elsewhere - I lost several ring sizes as well as a hat size on my Atkins journeyWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Oh wow...I never thought about my head being fat. My face, yes; but my head???Originally posted by Elizellen View PostI lost several ring sizes as well as a hat size on my Atkins journey
I've found I've lost weight all over. My first noticeable loss was my FEET. Like who cares about that when you are trying to fit into smaller clothes!
The typical measurements (chest, waist, hip) may not show much change but if you could add up all the small incremental changes all over your body, then a difference would be noticeable.
Hang on...the tight pants WILL fit some day.

Re: How is this possible???
Don't forget - the first part of weight loss during induction is your glycogen stores and any excess fluids you're holding onto.
7 lbs is a great number, but it certainly isn't all fat that you're losing right away. That comes with continued effort on this WOE.
So keep your resolve going strong, and eventually the fat will leave and your pants will fit, and then your pants won't fit because you'll have lost more weight.
