I would not waste your money on them!

If they worked even Oprah and all the other millions of yoyo dieters in the world would be slim and stay slim, don't you think?!?!

Also you never know what the drugs in them are doing to your body.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Like everyone said...don't waste your money. Most of those diet pills just have tons of stimulants like caffeine which may cause cravings in some people on Atkins and the only reason u may lose weight with those is from running around from all the stimulants. So it's best just to save your money and follow atkins dandr to letter and you should do just fine

          Re: Atkins & Diet Pills.

This way of eating is it's own natural diet pill! It works even better, is better for you body (lots of nutrients!) and is its own energy boost and appetite suppressant. You can't get THAT in a bottle!

Save your money. I've never found a diet pill, prescription, herbal or otherwise, that works. Atkins, however, does.
          Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

          Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
          Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

          Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
          Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
          Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!

            Re: Atkins & Diet Pills.

Diet pills may work on a biological level, but so will healthy, natural amino acids that you can purchase in the store for very little $$$ at WalMart. Look to the book The Mood Cure for the right aminos catered to your personal needs. The best diet pills? Vitamins in the form of chromium picolinate and carnitine for sugar cravings, glutamine for carb cravings, 5-HTP for stress and GABA for anxiety.

(And always consult with your doctor regarding adding aminos to your plan if it could conflict with prescription SRUI's)

Ok Cleo, can you give me an idea of a brand name or something I am looking for to get all those you mentioned. I usually shop at Walmart but can go to Target and GNC if they have it.
              thanks in advance

                Re: Atkins & Diet Pills.

Any brands will do for those supplements! Try to go no more than 25 mg for the 5-HTP, and if you're bipolar, taking SRUIs or autistic, consult a doctor prior to taking.

For the rest of the supplements, take according to directions. If you don't need the GABA you'll experience bad juju within 15 minutes. If you do need GABA, you'll find you feel amazing within 15 minutes. You want to be sure to pay close attention to how you feel taking those supplements, and take them separately so that you can be fully aware of how they affect you. Aminos are short-term necessities when coupled with low carb. the reason so many SAD's need aminos is because the glutens and processed carbs many eat acts as a blood/brain barrier for the aminos that occur naturally in foods.

I recommend Julia Ross' book because she goes into detail what I'm only touching on here in these posts. I'm not a doctor, Julia Ross knows her stuff. She talks dosages and the like in her books. She's made a huge difference in my household!
