  • LOL, never trust the scale

Here is my little tale of my scale:

Yesterday I got to my lowest of 133.40. YIPPEE!

Today I weighed 134.80, no big deal I ALWAYS gain after I lose up to 2 lbs.

I come home and now weigh 134.40, less than this morning after 100 oz of water and two meals and a snack!

Scales lie, don't trust them. I use them as a tool to make sure I am getting enough water. Yesterday, I had a lot of salt and saw the difference in the scale, not my clothes.

I hear yah! I have been weighing myself for 2 years now...First time I did Low Carb I lost 45pds in 2 months..Well like some of us it caught up to me cause I got cocky....Well the story of the scale is one minute I am down and the next day I can put on 6pds...I truly believe measurements are important...If you excersize I find I do not move the scale for awhile and then boom it moves..Its got to do with water retention. I hate the scale...(LMAO)

I really hate the scales to.... You would think that exercising and eating right would make these lbs fall off... but I am up down up down... I did measure and know I am loosing inches... It is just so frustrating..
I think I might take them out with the garbage.....

You are correct...(LMAO) I feel like I would do the same...I am a slave to the dang scale...I think I have weighed myself everyday for 2 years...And in that time you would think I would notice me putting on 60pds...

Good reminder. I am also a slave to the scale. It is all I can do not to weigh myself every day. I have to quickly put something in my mouth because I know I won't weigh after that. Silly, huh? It is a battle.

Re: LOL, never trust the scale

I love my scale. I try not to go more then once a week without checking, unless I'm doing a personal challenge to wean myself a bit.

This past week has been crazy with the weigh ins, lol. I started off at 86 lbs down. Last night I was at 80 lbs. This morning I am at 82. So in a week, I gained 6 lbs, and then lost 2.

I don't care though about the scale so much - I just watch it for water consumption as well. I know when I gain, it's because I need to drink more. Last week I was off on vacation, so I know I wasn't getting enough (I have a routine at work), plus I was biking a LOT so my muscles were retaining as well to help repair. I am back to my water this week, and just in that one day I was down 2 lbs just due to drinking my water again. I know the rest will stream out soon enough as long as I keep up my consumption.

                Mini Goals:

                Goal 2 - Pre-Pregnancy Weight with 2nd Child (September 27th, 2009)
                Goal 3 - 50 lbs down (December 1st, 2009)
                Goal 4 - Highest Pregnancy Weight with 1st right before c-section (February 20, 2010)
Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child
                Goal 6 - 100 lbs down
                Goal 7 - Pre-pregnancy weight with 1st
Goal 8 - Weight I met my husband
                Goal 9 - 150 lbs down

I love what you just pointed out. I never looked at it like that! You just gave me an "ah ha" moment!!! I have such an addiction to the scale and when it goes up and down, I know that it's because of water retention because my eating habits have not changed and I have not done anything outrageous enough to validate the numbers. Thanks for pointing this out and putting things in a whole new perspective for me!

Re: LOL, never trust the scale

It's all about the water retention and that's why I weigh all the time. Plus I'll be able to tell by my afternoon weight if I will lose in the morning. I've learned to not be surprised either way.
