  • Proud of myself today

I began running about 6 weeks ago. We bought a treadmill and I have been religiously using it 4-5 times per week. When I first started running I couldn't even run for 30 seconds at 4 mph without feeling like I was gonna die. Well fast forward 6 weeks...I just ran 5.3 miles (yup 8.52km) in 48 minutes. Without this WOL I would not have had the energy to do this I am thinking that I might perhaps start working towards a half marathon.

    I feel FANTASTIC!

Thanks! I honestly never saw myself as someone who would ever run. I'm impressed by the human body and what it is capable of.

I've always been a walker. I walk 3-4 miles per day with my little dogs but at a very relaxed pace.

I started out running for 30 seconds (because that is all I could do) and then I would walk for 3 minutes. With each workout I increased my running time and decreased my walking time. Before I knew it I was able to run for 10 minutes straight and now I can run forever . But running wasn't the only thing that I did. I started weight lifting twice per week as well I have been cross training with rollerblading. I tend to work out 5-6 times per week in total but I aim to "move" everyday.

Way to go! As a fellow Atkins runner, I know how good it feels to burn up your fat while you knock out those miles. Keep up the good work!
