Dr. Atkins wrote it takes 2-3 days to get into ketosis. So you probably have had 1 or 2 days of fat burning.

Don't weigh yourself daily. Just weigh once and then again on Day 15.

We're all different. My sister and I started at the same time. We had nearly the same start weight. And we're only a couple of years apart age-wise. Wouldn't you know it? She got to her goal weight faster than I did! So, don't compare yourself to other people.

Also, it really depends how much weight you are starting off with. The rule of thumb is that we can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight we need to lose on the 14 Day Induction. So a person with a 100 pound weight loss goal can expect to lose 5-10 pounds. A person with a 10 pound weight loss goal can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound.

Unfortunately, we didn't put those pounds on over night, so it is not likely we will take them off overnight either.

Everyone is different. I have been hard at work trying to get my blood sugars down and get control of my weight now since February, I have lost 2 pounds.

However, my blood sugars are down consistantly OVER 200 points from where they were in February. My blood lab work has improve dramatically and I feel much better in general.

Keep at it, push the water and let your body decide when it will begin loosing excess weight.

If you continue to stress yourself out, you will end up quitting, driving yourself nuts... or both!

Remember, it is a life change, not a diet, stick with it and it will change your life for the better!

Can you post a typical day's eating?

How much water are you drinking?

Re: Day 4 of Induction...and no pounds lost...why???

Hey atkinsgal08... I am drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs and 3-4 pieces of bacon and 1 cup of coffee
snack: 1 can of vienna sausages and sliced cucumbers with ranch dressing( which has 1 carb)
Lunch: some type of meet along with more veggies, and some pork skins
Dinner: either pork chops, chicken, shrimp, sausage, along with a green steamed veegie.

i have drank crystal light the past 2 days... is that a problem?

                  thanks for your help!

Don't drink the crystal light, unless you have no other sweetener that day. It can stall your weight loss big time! And those vienna sausages are a red flag--look at the ingredients, and make sure there are no grams of sugar.
You need a little cheese in there, unless you can't stop eating it once you start!
