  • 9 Pounds Left/Lesson Learned

Just wanted to share with everyone that after todays weigh in, I only have 9 pounds left until I reach my goal weight. I'm not real sure what's going to be the bigger challenge getting to my goal weight or staying at my goal weight. Right now, I the food part down pretty well and I am still changing up my excersies and trying new things. I did notice that the closer I get to my goal weight, the harder it its and there have been times where I have actually gained a pound or 2 back before loosing it again. So trying new things at the gym have really helped. Last week I gained a pound back and was sitting at 208. This week I added an extra 30 minutes of cardio in before my weight lifting routine and run. It has made a HUGE difference and helped me get through that little pleatu. Todays weigh in, I weighed 204. So a guess the lesson I learned is don't be afraid to try new things and change things up a little. Just wanted to share this with everyone. If one person gets something out of this, mission accomplished.

All you have to remember is that this is your goal weight for the rest of your life. And don't let anyone try to convince otherwise!

I wouldn't worry much about a lb or 2...don't forget muscle weighs more than fat so if you are building muscle that could account for slight increases on the scale here and there. Sounds like you are doing great though...congrats!

                Good advice.

When i worked out previously (way before Atkins) at the YMCA with weights and cardio, it would really increase my appetite where i felt i was eating back all my gains, even with snacking. You ever have this problem?

Contrats on being so close to your goal!

Thank you all for your kind words and for the rep points. ECD, I have never felt hungry after I left the gym. If anything, I have to force myself to drink a protein shake before I go to bed.

Jake1970, I don't know if my reply went to you so I will post my workout here for everyone to see. For everyone reading this, sorry in advace for the length and if anyone has any questions, on any of the exercises or why I chose this particular method please just ask and I'll be happy to explain.

Monday-30 Minute Elliptical Fat Burn, Upper Body Weight Training, 2 Mile Run.

Tuesday-30 Minute Elliptical Cardio, Lower Body Weight Training, 30 Minute Enduarnce Jog.

                          Wednesday-Off/Rest

Thursday-30 Minute Elliptical Fat Burn, Upper Body Weight Training, 2 Mile Run.

Friday-30 Minute Elliptical Cardio, Lower Body Weight Training, 30 Minute Enduarnce Jog.

                          Saturday/Sunday-Off/Rest

Upper Body- 4 sets of 15 reps for each exercise. On upper body days these are the exercises I do: Lat Pulldowns, Seated Cable Row, Tricep Extensions, Standing Barbell Curls, Incline Dumbell Press, Seated Dumbell Shoulder Press, Seated Incline Curls, Laterial Dumbell Raises.

Lower Body- 4 sets of 15 reps for each exercise. On lower body days these are the exercises I do: Seated Leg Press, Seated Leg Extensions, Seated Leg Curls, Seated Calve Extensions.

What's a 30 Minute Elliptical Fat Burn? 30 minutes on the elliptical keeping my heartrate at a lower level. I usually keep mine at 120 for 30 minutes. Pretty easy and doesnt take alot of energy.

What's a 30 Minute Elliptical Cardio? Just that, 30 minutes on the elliptical keeping my heartrate at 160-165.

2 Mile Run- Has just increased from a mile and a half run Basically I run as fast as I can. It's a race against myself. I have done alot of trial and error and have found a pretty good method to get good at running. (I started off just a couple months ago barley jogging a half a mile)

30 Minute Enduarance Jog: Still hard for me to do, however It really helps and to me is one of the most important factors of my workout plan. Once I started doing this a few weeks ago, everything else got better.
