  • Sugar: The Bitter Truth

Hello to the best diet forum in the world!

Recently at UCSF (a premier medical school), the Professor of Pediatrics in the Endocrinology Department named Dr. Lustig gave a 90 minute presentation about the problems of American diet.

It is incredible. Scientifically, he demonstrates why sugar does what it does. He tells you why sugar and HFCS are in everything we eat. He mentions government programs that initiated the problem, and etc, etc, etc. It's medically irrefutable, and I hope it starts making noise around the web. I can't possibly do justice to how comprehensive and thoroughly Dr. Lustig lays out the case against sugar. Go watch for yourself, but be warned, it is 90 minutes long.

    Here is the video

The reason I started low-carbing is in my signature; I was influenced by a dedicated researcher who showed me the truth that's gotten lost in America's nutritional abyss. This video, I think, can do the same for others, and as low-carbers, I thought you all would appreciate knowing a little more about why it is low-carb works.

    Enjoy!
N.B.: not on Atkins, but low-carb dieting for a healthy lifestyle change and weight loss. Taubes' Good Calories, Bad Calories changed what I thought I knew about nutrition

I haven't read the book Good Calories, Bad Calories yet, but I loved Taubes' article What If It's All Been A Big Fat Lie? I might just have to stop by Barnes & Nobles today and pick up the book, it would be an interesting read.
I WILL learn to feel comfortable in my own body again!
