  • Coming back

Posting on the boards is one of the sharpest tools I have toward staying on my diet. I haven't taken the time to post in some time, and sure enough today I convinced myself I could handle joining my colleagues in a Mexican luncheon buffet. The salad part went fine. But then came the refried beans... said no to the rice... said yes to the tortilla wrapped enchiladas and did not discard the tortilla. Of course there went my resolve, and I indulged in chips and salsa.

I spent the rest of the afternoon battling cravings and suffering from acid reflux and lack of energy. I don't want to wait until tomorrow to start again, because if I learned anything from you on ADBB, I learned that I must restart as soon as I can and not wait.

I'm not very happy with myself needless to say. I am, however, grateful to see so many familiar nicks here on ADBB and take comfort that I have a safe place to talk about this stuff. Love to you all,

    Re: Coming back

One epiphany that made all the difference for me is knowing a healthy way of life doesn't have to begin on Monday morning at 7 am. It can begin on a Thursday afternoon at 4:47 pm!

The coolest thing about beginning in the afternoon is that by the morning, you're already over 12 hours into induction.

Hi Suzanne I agree with the others you should just continue and re-think things out .If your in a situation where you will be eating with friends again plan out what you will do next time to avoid the same thing happening again.Hang in there!

Good to see you post! Do you work out at all? I find that the best way to get back on track if something goes wrong is to work out. It always clears my head and puts me in the right frame of mind to "behave" going forward.

I am back too from a short stint away. It's so funny I was thinking the same thing this morning. I am more determined the more I post.

Glad to see you are back too. Move forward don't dwell on the past.

Thank you all... Stayed on track the rest of the afternoon and evening. Woke up this morning and made breakfast Atkins style. Still have cravings, but I know they will soon dissipate as I stay in induction and get back on track.
