  • Fell off the wagon and rolled down a hill!

After losing right about 30 pounds since August '09, I had to stop going to Curves last November, and since then, with all the holidays that followed, I have not been true to this diet at all. I haven't gained much back according to the scales..I keep gaining/losing the same 3 pounds, basically. I'm really disappointed in myself, but I know this happens, so I'm trying not to beat myself up too bad...

ANYHOO...I paid for another month at Curves and I can start again Monday. I'm just kind of worried because I don't feel like I have the same excitement/enthusiasm as I did last time, even tho I really do want/need to do this. It's hard to explain. I know I can do it, but it worries me that I don't feel that inner cheering squad I once felt.

I do plan to come back here more often for the boost this place gives me, so hopefully I'll have a good update soon. My sister is getting married in July, and I really want to be down another 10-15 pounds by then because I hate always feeling like the fat girl at every family function, ya know?

So that's my story. I'm glad I have this place to fall on when I need it, for sure!

    See you all around!

    Welcome back, Dani!

I don't feel like I have the same excitement/enthusiasm as I did last time
One thing I found is that I'm not excited every day about Atkins... and that's perfectly normal. I don't expect to be excited every day about it, just as I don't expect to be excited every day about my work... even though I love it most days.

However, as long as I plan my daily meals, it doesn't really matter whether or not I'm enthusiastic about it or not. I just follow the plan... it doesn't matter how I feel about it.

Good job for getting back to the gym!

I would suggest also finding an alternative form of exercise, in case you need to stop going again. It's definitely possible to exercise without a gym... especially now that summer is here and there are so many activities you can do outside.

Good Job on making the decision to come back to the board... Let the Wonderful People here be your cheering squad.. Post your loses even if they are minor... You will get all kinds of encouragement from everyone.

I completely agree with Georgiania.. You may not need curves, if you find yourself giving up there, there is tons of other things you can do.. I work out at home havent been to the gym once in the 4 weeks I have been on atkins and have lost 15lbs. I went to the library and rented tons of excersice dvd's and tried them and continue to do the ones I like.. It also give you an opportunity to try before you buy...

Good luck on jumping back on the wagon....

Re: Fell off the wagon and rolled down a hill!

        Thanks, girls!

Actually, today we just got our pool cleaned out and it's filling up, so that will be my go-to after Curves and even on the days I can't get there, or if I can't afford it after awhile. It just wasn't an option in the winter because..well, it was winter, lol!!

I've thought about jogging around my yard, too, as goofy as that sounds! I just hate the thought of getting my big butt out in public to do something like that so I thought, "why do I have to leave the yard to jog? It's big enough, I can run for so many minutes a day right here!". It's just talking myself thru this Florida heat to actually do it, LOL.

I'm so glad I came back here. I'm feeling more motivated already.

but I'm back on track... and that's what counts in my life.... trying to stick with it.. and work it out for the long haul....
