  • Seductive Pizza

I knew it had to happen. I succumbed Sunday to the alluring seduction of pizza. My dear friend (who will be my matron of honor) was in town from California. She has 6 children. After church, we went to CiCi's Pizza (buffet), because it was the most cost effective. I was doing ok eating salad, and thin crust pizza, but then that apple crumble topped siren called me and I succumbed.

Was it good? Considering that I got to spend time with my friend and her adorable brood, yes, it was.
    Was it off plan? Yes.
Would I do it again? Probably. It was just one meal, and I enjoyed myself tremendously.
Am I back on plan today? You bet! I also bought a pedometer yesterday afternoon and I'm back on track walking.

I weighed in Saturday morning and lost 2 1/2 pounds and 3 inches. I probably found those 2 1/2 pounds again, but I'm ok with losing them again. Yea!

    Mini goal 1: 180 1/23/2010 2: 170 4/25/2010 , 3: 160, 4: 150, 5: 140 Final Goal: 125

    Re: Seductive Pizza

Well, at least one of us saw a tempting pizza this weekend! The one my cousin's boyfriend brought to the family supper last night looked hideous----orange grease puddled on the top and the cheese looked blobby (in a bad way). He swore it was from this local place (a mom and pop establishment), but honestly, it looked like he dug it out of the garbage bin. Not good at all. And it probably tasted the way it looked because half of it was still in the box when everyone was leaving for home.

Did you know at Cicis you can buy a pizza bowl? They hold the crust and they bake all the toppings you want into a nice, 6=8" aluminum foil bowl. It was divine! Just request one next time.

      Here is a picture!

Doesn't that look divine? No worries! Now you know for the next time!

Just make sure to ask if they use ranch dressing or tomato sauce as filler and have them hold those.

While I haven't done it this time around on Atkins, I have been known to eat out at the local pizza buffet.

The other customers give me funny looks, but it isn't their looks that pack on the pounds!

I start with a small lettuce salad, easy on the dressing (they usually have tacos on the buffet, so I add some ground taco meat, sour cream and cheese to the salad.)

Then I go for the pizza.

Depending on the day and the appetite, I might eat 2 pieces or might eat as many a 6 pieces.

Walking away from a plate piled with "dead" pizza crusts is what usually gets me the looks.

It is the same as the pizza bowl, you wouldn't eat the bowl, I just consider the crust to be the plate!

When I was a newbie on ADBB, one of the moderators used to call the crust a disposable plate. And come to think of, the crust is more ecofriendly because it will bio-degrade unlike a styrofoam plate.
