  • If You Could...

...travel back in time and meet your teenage self, what would you do, what would you say?

I would seriously smack myself and let my teenage self know that I am NOT fat, and that there is an easy way to fix being overweight. I would tell myself not to play second fiddle to anybody, and to socialize more with people. I would tell myself that I need to work harder in school and spend less time vegging in front of the television because all the tv shows I ever wanted to see will be available on DVD for when I actually DO have free time. I would tell myself to save all the money I've made from part-time jobs to go travel after High School.

There is more...but I will stop right here.

    Mini Goals:
    Goal 1 - 10% (September 13th, 2009)
    Goal 2 - Pre-Pregnancy Weight with 2nd Child (September 27th, 2009)
    Goal 3 - 50 lbs down (December 1st, 2009)
    Goal 4 - Highest Pregnancy Weight with 1st right before c-section (February 20, 2010)
Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child
    Goal 6 - 100 lbs down
    Goal 7 - Pre-pregnancy weight with 1st
Goal 8 - Weight I met my husband
    Goal 9 - 150 lbs down
    Goal 10 - Weight in Grade 8
    Goal 11 - Weight in Grade 6

    I would tell myself that...

    1. Just because I'm a competitive swimmer and am in the water upwards of 3 hours/day doesn't give me license to eat an entire bag of mini candy bars in one sitting, and that my mood would be greatly improved if I'd lay off the sugar because I'm setting myself up for years of terrible eating habits.

    2. I'm a fool if I don't accept my parents' offer to study abroad for a semester while in college. Despite having traveled extensively since leaving school, failing to study abroad is my biggest regret in life.

    3. The social drama of the teenage years is temporary and won't bother me later on.

    4. I am never going to marry a member of Duran Duran.

As a teenager I slimmed down using Atkins '72 and stayed at goal for three years.

What would I say to myself?

You know that Atkins is all you need. Do not listen to the food pyramid and people who push low fat, food pyramid poison thinking.

        1. When Karen introduces you to Jim F. RUN as fast as you can in the opposite direction and don't look back!

        2. Make sure the gate is closed when you let Pixie out into the yard, especially on the night of October 17, 1987.

        3. Spend as much time with Grandma Jean as you can.

        4. What cleo wrote about Atkins.

            1. What Grant said about Microsoft stock!

            2. Everyone is fighting some kind of battle. Be friendlier to people, because they are just like you. They aren't better, they aren't worse, & you might have more in common than you realize.

            3. Walk to school, for the exercise & companionship.

            4. Respect yourself, know what you want, don't go out with a guy just cause he asks you. Take the time to be choosy! Same with marriage, take your time!!!! You deserve happiness!

            5. Don't let friendships drift for 20 years. We need our girlfriends!

            6. You don't like potatos, don't let people convince you to eat them. Bread is just a filler, don't waste stomach space on it. Mac N cheese is NOT A MEAL! Don't ever, ever, ever try Flaming Hot Cheetos, you have a food allergy to them, they cause addiction!

              michelley reminded me of something!

I'd tell myself, "Hey you! dummy! You're intolerant to glutens and all nightshades." I would have saved years of misery!

I would be less bitchy and arrogant. Can I say bitchy? And I would not have taken those weight loss pills I took my senior year of high school. They worked wonders except it does not last.

I definitely agree with Grant.. buy all the Microsoft stock I could get my hands on...and I would tell my teenage self, to lose the weight now...that life would have been so much better, had I done that...I would tell myself how beautiful I am and how I could do anything...I would tell her to love your mother because one day she isn't going to be there, anymore and then your heart will be broken every day after that...I would say NO to the blind date, because that's man I am married to now...(24 years). .........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just joking!!!)
