    Re: Not exactly stalled but...

What I generally tell folks is that cravings for carbs are generally satisfied with Glutamine. For sugars, l-carnitine and chromium picolinate.

Seratonin levels will also affect cravings, and for those 25 mg of 5-HTP tends to fit the bill so long as no other seratonin reuptake inhibitors are being taken (don't want any seratonin storms). 5-HTP also helps alleviate stress. It's a miracle amino found at WalMart. Gotta love that.

I'm never hungry either. I love Atkins!

    Good hunting.

Nope, I didn't know. Some people on forums use "jello" for any gelatin dessert.

I stand corrected, but I also hate it when people online think they have to correct spelling, I was just being lazy...

Mutantmom I eat over 1600 a day, sometimes 2k a day and still am doing great. So don't be afraid to add an extra tablespoon of butter or oil.

Your exercise and water are great. Have you thought about moving to OWL?

If you go to your User CP you can alter your Atkins phase to tell epople which rung of OWL you are at, so they don't assume you are still on induction (as it reads at the moment).
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

thanks for such a thoughtful post...what do you do when you stall, just wait it out? Have you had long stalls? I know this is not an actual stall (yet) because my waist is now 48" (down 4 1/2" from day one) and down about 1 full inch in the past two weeks...but gheeeezzzzz I wish the scale would move...

My fault for not updating my stats...thanks for your input, I have to honestly say I'm not really sure which rung I'm on because I had to skip two (dairy and nuts)...

Well for me.. I mean the inches have come off so slow, its agonizing..I have the same waist size, I did 20 pounds ago.. so I am one that doesn't follow the inches, although I do log it in my own personal journal..I had a horrendous stall back in October.. and it was long.. and I know that people will not agree with me, but what I did was up the exercise and I drank an Atkins vanilla shake for dinner.. that was the only time I ever drank one of those shakes..Then I finally started losing again...I just basically wait it out...I figure at my poundage, it can't last forever...but it is aggrivating...I really have to watch myself because I have a horrendous habit of starving myself...I can do that well..but anyway I am sure it's going to pass...

Dr Atkins said that the loss of inches proved we are losing FAT, so in a way it is better to be losing them than just seeing the scales moving

Browneyed, you are doing amazing. I don't know your whole history but I want to tell you the story of my aunt:

very overweight who did appetite suppressents (dr rx'd) before doing gastris bypass in 2002. She stopped the soda and ate protein and I think got smaller than me, I was a size 8-10 at the time. that didn't last long and since 2003 she has put the weight back on. Probably 75 lbs plus. She started reg drinking soda (which you are not suppose to have) which was her demise.

So finally after years of being single she got married and went back to a medical weight loss center to get back on appetite suppressants to lose 30 plus lbs before the wedding.

She knows protein and veggies are good for her but fails to follow up those rules. I know she won't stick with good eating habits without those suppressants and will probably gain the weight back. She stuggles with food all the time. and relies on drastic measures

my point, you are doing this the right way in my very humble opinion. there is something to be said for someone choosing not to eat the whole bag of chips and opting for veggies. you should be proud of yourself, even if you falter a couple of times. you aren't relying on any pills (maybe except vitamins) or a drastic surgery that messes up your stomach.

keep it up with it, it's very rewarding, as you already know.

                              Then she

Aww thank you Jaxmama.. you are very kind...I do falter at times.. and then I have to spend a few days getting back to where I was... but I am proud of myself for doing that.. I have spent half of my life, dieting, cheating and then gaining back everything plus.. so when I get back on Atkins after a falter, I do consider it a victory...I beg my hubby to do it with me.. but he bitches and moans, because he thinks I am on a kooky diet, but will tell everyone about my weight loss.. go figure...I promised myself I wouldn't have that surgery ever..anyway my main motivation besides my health, son etc. is that I didnt live that much in the first half of my life.. and I want to live a little before I die.. I know that sounds harsh, but that is the raw truth.. ooo I wish I could fly to Florida and give you a great big hug.. I wish your aunt well.. I know how it feels to lose and gain...
