  • Not a very good thing here=(

    Well joined a short while ago was doing GREAT and then got a call from back home-my cousin who was like a sister to me was murdered she was shot in the chest by her boyfriend and then he killed hisself in front of their three children she was 31=( I did excellent on the trip low carb wise which is 550 miles away from where I now live- did fine through the visit till on the way home I CHEATED not a little ALOT I do not know what overcame me other than depression and emotional eating=(SO today is my restart and I am back on it I am not going to let this get me down she wouldnt want that I DONT want that and my son surely dont want that.....anyways can anyone on here share a cheat story and tell me how long it took to get back into ketosis longer or shorter or same amount of time???? any insite would be very much appreciated THANKS GUYS

    Sorry about your loss. That's just horrible.

    It's good that you are determined to get back on track with your atkins. You'll be able to direct those emotions you have to something constructive. As for getting back into ketosis....it really depends on how big this cheat was and how much of those carbs were stored as glycogen. But no matter, just get back on track so you can get back into ketosis.

      Mistie, I'm very sorry for your loss. It's one thing to lose a friend or family member to a desease. That's hard enough. But, this. I feel very badly for you and especially her children. You have my prayers.

      Yea, I've cheated big time before. Typically, it was about 4 days later before it appeared I was back in ketosis. 4-5 days later and I might have a little loss which I'm sure was water. Everyone is different.

      I'm proud of you getting back on track after such an emotional rollercoaster I'm sure you have been on.

          I am so so so sorry about your loss.. that is horrible...I agree with forbey...just pick up where you left off.. I have cheated a whole week and gained 25 pounds and it took a couple of weeks to lose it..and then I have cheated on a midnight snack and it took me a couple of days...I do not know how to use those sticks...but that's what happened to me.. I think its important, just to hop on and look forward...again I am so sorry...

            Mistie I'm so glad you're back. I have a tendency to eat at what's eating me as well. Posting to the boards regularly really helps me keep my resolve. It also gives me a place to vent in a healthy way rather than eat at it.

              thanks so much for all of your insite and kind words NOTHING is going to get me down or atleast to the point of cheat again I am stronger than that- today didnt have much of an appetite due to the HUGE CHEAT yesterday so I had two minute steaks w/ one piece of american cheese and 2 tomatoes- for a snack later I am going to have mushrooms-green peppers and yellow onions fried in canola w/ mrs. dash thats if I get hungry I know I need to eat eat eat for the first 2 weeks atleast every 4 hours just not hungry right now...once again THANKS GUYS -big hugs- Mistie

                wow... I'm so sorry for all you've been through...

                I've cheated... be lying if I said I hadn't .... don't beat yourself up.... just get on track... and take care of yourself....

                  Just go back to extended induction and drink a lot of water. You should be back in ketosis in 2 days. it's good you posted about it!
