Hello everyone I'm new to this site. I've been on the atkins diet for over a month 1/2 now and haven't lost much weight at all. I have no gallbladder, am 35 years old and want to lose 45 pounds total. I have a deadline of August 21 to lose at least 30 of those pounds and I do not know what I might be doing wrong by way of dieting...if there is someone out there that might be able to help. I do not eat meat or very very little and my carbs sit around 15-18 per day...my caloric intake is anywhere from approx. 700-850 per day. I watch every single thing that goes into my mouth and the weight is just NOT coming off. I do not weigh myself but my clothes fit exactly the same. I do work out about 2 times a week and belly dance once a week. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Many thanks and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

A few things we need to know.
What is your sex, height and current weight? These are important because if you are already in a "normal" weight range, your body might be resisting further weight loss.
Also please post a couple days of your menus. Please include amounts/quantities of the foods you eat.~Megs~

Hi thanks to both of you for replying. Ok here's a sample diet:
Breakfast: 1 Atkins Advantage bar or a Powerbar Carb Select.
I cup coffee with 2 tablespoons light cream and sweet and low
Snack: Either a handful of peanuts (approx. 13) or a Polly-O Cheese stick.
Lunch: Salad with no carb dressing and cheese (cheesestick cut up) and sometimes a few green olives
Dinner: 2 boca burgers (Flame grilled 2 carbs each) with a side of veggies either spinach or broccoli. Alternately I will make an omlette that consists of cheese (cheddar) and a side of veggies.
After dinner snack: Advantage bar or Powerbar Carb select usually only half of this bar.
I eat the bars so that I can get the protien that I'm not getting from not eating meat. The omlettes are usually three egg omlettes and along with the cheese and the other stuff (each bar is anywhere from 210-310 calories each) I'm averaging about 700-850 calories. I do not drink and I do not smoke.
I do enjoy a crystal light now and then usually the lemonade.
I'm a female, 35 years old, 162 lbs.

Bars are notorious for stalls. Why don't you eat meat??
Don't eat "light" cream. Use the heavy whipping cream instead. "light" means they add sugar and remove the fat.
Peanuts aren't allowed on induction.
Too much cheese will stall you.
Nix the crystal light .. it contains nutrasweet and that's a known staller.
Not nearly enough fat ... Your calorie intake is way too low. Aim for 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs every day.
Do you exercise? What do you mean by "workout"? How much water are you drinking? Do you take supplements?

Wow Ok so that's a lot of info...bummer it seems I've been doing lots wrong...I don't eat meat because I don't like it and I have moral issues with it...so, I do eat the boca burgers...I'm 5'4. Ok so no bars...I dont know how will I get my protien? By the end of two weeks how much should I have lost?
I work out as in I do a cardio/strength video and I belly dance at a class which is 2 hours long.
So I need to add more fat...will the heavy cream do that?

I can see from the posts you make that you don't have the book.
It is a must to get it, so you understand everything this way of eating is about.
There are vegetarians that are doing atkins, so you will be able to find recipes that use tofu and such for protein.
I am not long enough around on this board to be able to point you to the vegetarians for help but I am sure someone else will.
2-3 ounces of cheese per day are allowed, splenda is ok to use.
Greets and welcome aboard, I hope we can help you out on this41 year old female, lenght 5'5'' and a half

You can have splenda but are limited to two servings of it a day.
Cheese is limited to no more than 3 oz
No nuts if you are on Induction
You need to eat more 700-800 is way too low
Pick up a copy of the 2002 DNDR and read the stickies at the top of the induction forum for the acceptable foods list...if it's not listed there don't eat it32yr old Female

Me? Well initially I only wanted to lose 15 pounds, but those came off in less than 3 months. I stayed on induction about 3 weeks I think .. then moved on to OWL. I continued to lose so I changed my goal and hit the 30 pound mark in 11 months. Bear in mind, the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off. But if you exercise (cardio and weight/resistence training), it will speed things up for you. You will find yourself shrinking in inches more than pounds, so its wise to measure yourself before you begin. Don't obsess about the pounds .. just work on getting yourself healthy!
I've lost another 8.5 pounds since maintaining, simply by eliminating all low carb junk foods and eating unprocessed foods. I also run 32 miles a week, do weight training and use the exercise ball at home.
