So TOM has had me a bit down, but I just had the most wonderful IM conversation with a coworker. I just had to share. :joy
01:03PM friend: So - how are you doing it? You look great!
01:04PM Susan: Atkins!
01:04PM friend: Really....is is hard to follow?
01:04PM Susan: I have never felt better either
01:04PM Susan: nope. Just have to beat the carb monster
01:04PM Susan: once you get past the first week it's so easy
01:05PM friend: do you have to buy the book to follow the plan - or are there details available somewhere online?
01:05PM Susan: I do avoid going out to eat because it's hard to know all the ingredients of everything and I am very strict abut following it
01:05PM friend: makes sense
01:05PM Susan: Well I truly recommend doing it by the book
01:06PM Susan: Dr atkins New diet revolution copyright 2002.
01:06PM friend: I'll check it out.
01:06PM Susan: All the rest of them were made after he died and include all sorts of the atkins bars and stuff that tend to stall people
01:07PM Susan: Let me know if you have any questions about it. I am pretty obsessive about it and I am more than happy to chat it up
01:07PM friend: That is good to know. So what was the hardest part of getting through the first week?
01:08PM Susan: well I am a sugar addict. The cravings were hard
01:08PM Susan: but after the first week you aren't hungry anymore the cravings go away and you see major losses right away
01:09PM friend: I think my biggest problem will be eating on the run. I always handle the kids and worry about me later.
01:09PM Susan: Well you can pre make your foods. I have a ton of food here at work that I keep handy for lunches and such. For dinners I make my son eat what I eat.
01:10PM Susan: he can live without a carb overload at 1 meal a day
01:10PM friend: True enough - I'm sure my kids can handle it too.
01:10PM Susan: and so far everything we have tried recipe wise has been very good
01:11PM friend: Thanks for the insight....I'll keep you posted.
01:11PM Susan: ok
