Hello, everyone. Well I was wondering if you all could give me some info on atkins diet and ttc? I was on the Atkins last year and since then Dh and I have been ttc. I want so bad to go back on the diet but don't know for sure if it is ok to while ttc. When I was on it last year I was taking a Centrum silver vitamin everyday. Now since we are ttc I am taking prenatal pills which have iron in them. Would it be ok to go back to the Centrum Silver vitamins and then take just a folic acid vitamin on top of the centrum? You should discuss any dietary changes you might want to make with your physician at this point. The maintenance phase of Atkins is fine for pregnant or nursing women because it has a variety of nutrients.
But again, you should discuss this with your physician.

We are also TTC #1 (with the help of a urologist), I am currently on extended induction, and taking prenatal vitamins. Yes they do have iron, but like 2late said, I have discussed this with my OB and my GP. Granted we arent right on the brink of TTC, my husband will start his therapy at the end on may, but I know I want to give my baby the best chance possible, considering our circumstances.
