I know this is a lot to ask but would somebody like to mentor me 1 to 1. I have tried to loose weight on many occasions but failed miserably! I think I need someone to TELL ME what to eat, somebody who could e-mail me on a regular basis or would have the time to chat on MSN. If I'm going to do this thing I want to do it 100% correct. I want to succeed! Starting Monday May 9th Current weight 276lb Goal 190lb

I'm sure you'll find a mentor. Perhaps post lower down the list of forums on 'penpals/mentors/buddies'. In the mean time, feel free to ask questions if you're not sure about something in your DANDR. By the way, we give advice based on the 2002 edition. Welcome aboard.

I am not really a mentor, because I have not been doing this long enough to have all the answers, but if you would like a friend, to help push you along, I would be happy to be there. I come to this board at least twice a day for encouragement and advice and would be more than happy to chat or email with you to share this journey...?? I will send you a private message as well.

        some advice

        Dear Colin,

I am trying to be selfish and worry about my own weight loss at this time. I'm sorry if it sounds selfish, but I think with this diet/ WOE we all must be selfish to a point, at least until we have lost a significant amount of weight.

You have to have a goal in mind, and stick to it. Don't let anything stop you from achieving what you want.

Do you have any friends or family nearby who could be of some moral support for you?

I think part of being successful in Atkins is also being good selfishly. When we are going to family gatherings, not feeling ashamed or scared to tell anyone that you cannot have a piece of gramma's home made brownies, because YOU are watching your weight and eating a certain way.

        Hope this helps... :hug

The information you need is in the book including food lists, beverages, sample diets, supplements and much more.

You sound like you need someone to kick your butt into gear. The butt kick has to come from YOU only you can make you stay on track.

You have to let yourself lose the desire for food and turn your cravings into a massive craving for a trim healthy body.

You need to throw out the foods you know pack on the fat. You need to stock your kitchen and your mind with healthy choices.

You need to be a good friend to yourself. It is ok to like yourself it is ok to be selfish and take care of yourself because when you take care of yourself you will have more to give the people you love or want to love.

I have three children I would say the samething to.
