Why is it that people feel the need to comment on what I'm eating?????

I'm not saying the people on this board. I'm here to gain knowledge and support of this WOE. I'm talking about those I work with and socialize with.

I work with about 60 people and every day someone has GOT to comment on my meal!!!

    "Salad again?"

"Do you ever eat anything else"

"I know you're on Atkins, thats not healthy ya know"

"Hmmm what have you got there? Salad? Looks yum!"

"Why arent you eating the bun?"

"Here ... have some of this" ("this" being something sweet, etc.)

"One bite wont hurt. Oh come on!" "

"I ate _________ and I still lost weight when I was on my diet plan 2 years ago" (and its obvious by looking at them that they regained the weight)

Why dont people just mind their own business??!?!?!

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! :burn

I totally agree. Sometimes I just want to say I know what I am doing -- no matter how strange it may seem to you, so please keep your opinions on my meal to yourself.

          Ditto to all those posts

I remember reading in "Atkins for Life" all the comments people would make when you are on Atkins. He had a section in the book listing people's comments, what they really mean, and how to give appropriate answers

I don't know what stage of Atkins you are up to, but have a read of this section, it has some really good tips on how to answer these veiled comments (and in some cases, put them in their place) LOL

            Cheryl -

I just wanted to say congratulations on making it to Onederland! I hope to be going under 200 in the semi-near future.

You're doing great! I think that your results will speak for themselves - especially when you reach your goal weight...and then you can ask them if they'd like their sugar with that crow they're eating...

oh my god i have been haaving such a problem with that
i went to a resort with my family and i ate a salad and water the whole week end for lunch and dinner and they just on going on and on
hey not to mention my cousin who is practising to become a doctor was really on my case about eating this way and that all the fat is blocking my arteries and yes you are losing weight but you are killing your self and while she was saying this she was gulping down cheese cake and she is over 200 lbs !!!
i had a real hard time, sometimes i felt like just telling them i'm gonna come off the diet and just still continue it without them knowing

LOL!!! I love it. One person says you eat too much salad and another says you aren't eating healthfully!

                Isn't perception hilarious?

Well, could all this fat really be blocking our arteries?

today for lunch I ordered some chicken that I didn't realize was breaded, and my friend who was with me asked me why I was removing the breading. I told him I was on atkins. He told me to say screw it, it was just one day

I turned around and told him forget cheating, I've lost 15 lbs in 3 months - and I dont plan on messing that up.

he was actually impressed by that. Cant argue with results
                    F 24 5'10 SW - 217 GW 170 restarted atkins 1/14/08 - This time I'm sticking with it!

                    1st pic Pre restarting atkins @ 217 lbs. 2nd pic 20 lbs lighter @ 197 lbs! on 3/1/08

15 pounds in 3 months? hmm, they say if you slowly take off the weight, the less likely it is to gain it back
