First things first Annette, get hold of a copy of the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. DANDR for short.

We all us it and everything you need to know about the "diet" is in it. Buy it and read it from cover to cover. Also get to know this board too. Discover all the hidden secrets behind the amazing weight loss programme which has helped so many people to shed those unwanted pounds and become smaller, healthier and happier people.

This support board, (imho) is the best on the web.

      Good luck.

Please do not hesitate if you have any questions.

(be sure to also check out the FAQ section)

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        first!

        Hello and Welcome!
First make sure you talk to your doctor! Then get the book and read it over DANDR 2002 Edition, follow the induction rules to the letter, and there is no way you can fail. Drink lots of water and grab you supplements. You can also go to the Atkins website for a list of the acceptable foods for induction (Atkins.com). Stock your kitchen with the foods that you will be eating from the list. (It is very beneficial to use Fitday.com--it will help stay at 65%-fat 30%-protein 5%-carb ratio, which will also help you lose) Toss all of the "junk food". Make sure you have a scale and measuring tape, and last but not least be sure to come here for support and encouragement.

If I have left anything out, someone please feel free to add.

Annette, also get yourself a measuring tape and start measuring before you start. Take it from me, the tape will show you losses when the scal doesn't! I like http://mybodycomp.com/ because it gives you the ability to compare stats of two different measurements. Best of luck.
