It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I was feeling miserable the first week I started Atkins, and had seen something about the Atkins' flu. So a search on the Atkins' flu, brought up several posts from this board, and I started reading. A couple of weeks lurking and I joined, and haven't left yet.Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

My bestfriend
My bestfriend decided to have a gastric bypass to achieve her weight loss. At that time it may have been very necessary as she weighed in at 515lbs. I decided that rather than have a breast reduction, I would attempt weight loss and see if that would reduce them some. So far I've lost a "D", so something is goind right.

I was looking for info on Atkins. I had read the book and had read through some of the anti-Atkins site. But I was still cross referencing some of the sources Dr. Atkins cited in the reference list. Anyhow, I came across this site. Read through it and decided to join.

i did a search on Atkins, because I've known people who have been successful with this WOE. I lurked for about 2 days and joined. The main reason I joined was because I looked at the before/after pictures. I couldn't believe the transformations! They were so inspiring. I figured if they can do it, I can do it also. I've been an ADBB addict since then!Started 4/18/04

I was looking for info on leg cramps and did a search for Atkins Bulletin Boards and found this place. Lurked for awhile and thought "Wow, these people know their stuff!" Also everyone seemed so nice that I decided to go ahead and join up. I'm so glad I did! :yes"Only request in my behalf both inward and outward strength...that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one." -- St. Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Romans

I found this board a long time ago, but wasn't very active on it because I was on a couple of other boards.
Well ... long story short, I got banned from a different board for taking a HARDCORE STAND AGAINST CHEATING (imagine that! :yikes ) so I dedicated myself here. I love the 'kick in the pants' mentality that the moderators give. I love the fact that people have the freedom to say if you're not doing it by the book, YOU'RE NOT DOING IT. That's exactly the hardcore stand that got me banned by the other board. I was very upset when that happened, but I have to say, that coming here has been the best thing for me. I am with people who understand the woe and who are committed to it for life. THAT IS MY STYLE!!
I feel very fortunate to be here with you all!! I live by every word that 2big, Megs & Peter write!!
VIVA LA ADBB!!

I was contemplating atkins, and ran accross some atkins groups at yahoo under another account, and found the atkins main website, when i first started induction. A week later I found this forum under this account, in one of those groups, but cant remember which one .Restarting Atkins April 9th 2010

A friend told me that her husband who is a radiologist has been on the Atkins WOE for years. I figured, if it was good enough for a doctor, then it should be good enough for me. But I did my research and read all about it in dandr and found this forum to get testimonials, and the rest is history. Here I am 3 1/2 months later, and 41 lbs. lighter! :joy
