  • the BEST thing about this diet .. so far

I used to almost dread each new day.. knowing I was going to eat stuff I'd feel guilty about... weigh, feel more guilty.. and eat even more stuff to make me feel better....

the BEST thing about this diet it .. it's making me look FORWARD to each new day...

I know I'm losing.. I'm know I'm going to get better and better at food choices and learning.....

I feel in charge for once in a long long time!

Gaining control over what you eat rather than the other way around is so amazing, isn't it? Congratulations on doing so well!

the BEST thing about this diet it .. it's making me look FORWARD to each new day...
I read this post a few days ago, and it's exactly how I'm feeling today. Today is Day 4 for me. So far-- no Induction flu, no cravings. I can't believe how much water I'm drinking. I finish a 16 ounce glass and I can't refill it fast enough. It used to be that I'd have to choke down a glass, and now I think my body is craving it. I'm still excited about the food, but not so much that I'm thinking about it as much as I used to. Instead, it's like a happy surprise every time I get hungry. I'm allowed, if not encouraged, to eat. I've been waking up before my alarm clock every day. Maybe due to the new energy I have, or maybe because my body can't wait to hop on the scale (I know, bad! I'm a scale addict, but in a positive way!)

Anyway, just thought I'd profess my love for this WOE. It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, the birds are singing.... and I think I'm drunk on fat. :joy

I say a hearty amen to everyone else! Here are a few more celebratory events, compliments of the good Dr. Atkins...

Getting up 10 minutes before the alarm sounds in the morning because you are excited to weigh or measure yourself.

Having someone stop and squint at you and then say, "OMG! I didn't recognize you!"

Seeing my hair grow more luxurious and nails grow really fast because of the proteins and fats!

Putting on a shirt that was too small a month ago, only to find out it's too big now!

            Wanting to exercise.

you know.. you mention hair and nails.. my skin IS healthier..already... I usually have to pile on lotion for dry skin on arms and legs... I have barely used any at all lately....

now.. I'm WAITING on the 'can't wait to exercise' part...

LMAO Peytonn-- don't feel bad, girl. It took me three months into weight loss before I felt healthy enough to not suffer a massive stroke to exercise.

You start small. Park far away in the parking lot at Wal-Mart. Put a pedometer on your hip and just take the more circuitouis route through your daily chores/work, etc.

Then, as the weight starts coming off, you keep adding and adding.

I think all the fat we eat helps keep our skin and hair hydrated...along with the water!

Well the can't wait to exercise comes when you find something you enjoy. Pretty soon once you have found that one thing other things seem more appealing. Now I am itchy to get off of work not to go home and sit on my tush but because I want to get out there and burn some serious calories.

I guess I really AM exercising.. but not like on my gazelle or treadmill...

I teach.. and I can't wait to get home to weed eat, mow between the bushes..... dig something up that didn't do well there last year and move it to a new spot... that kind of thing...

I really active... and exercising by do yard work.... but nothing like a gym or really structured...so I don't really call it exercising...

when I HAD the time.. back in the winter... I wasn't this motivated to do anything..

YEAH.. that's another thing.... the energy.. the MOTIVATION to do stuff... that's good about this diet too

and when I saw DIET... I mean just like daily diet... everybody is on a diet every day... some are on a 'get fatter' diet... some on a 'stay the same' diet.. and some on a 'reducing' diet...

being a science teacher for so many years... anything you eat.. or any animal eats... is just DIET to me...

like 'a frog's diet consists of.....' like that... :icondance

                        That's all exercise!

It's not like, "ooh, look at me walk on a belt in the same spot for 30 minutes"... yours is still definitely exercise though, especially when you're doing it for prolonged periods of time.

If you look at websites, they all rate things such as yardwork and housework as exercise. The degree of vigorousness varies, obviously, as does the duration of time you spend doing it.

And if you teach, you're also on your feet all day, too.

Maybe at lunch you and a few of the teachers can do as ours have at our school and take lunch-time walks together. The next thing you know, you'll have recruited everyone to doing Atkins. *lol*

there are some other things I love about this way of life - like I get my own things - just mine. Like I have my very own butter, no one else is allowed to use my heavy whipping cream, and I also have like 5 or 6 waterbottles in my fridge that are all mine also

I love having my own things :joy

I love when people who rearly ever noticed me before ask me if I can write down my diet for them so they can lose a few pounds and I hand them the whole big Atkins book. They always look confused :confused i've given away 3 copies now.

I also enjoy the fact that I feel absolutly no guilt for ordering a big steak with a pile of veggies and a salad with regular dressing plus throw in some grilled shrimp just because I can!
