I live in Victoria too! :wave
I've been eating bacon sparingly (maybe once a week, usually once every two weeks or so) and I eat Hertels sausage every so often as well, and I seem to be doing just fine.
We go out to the Red Barn Market on West Saanich and get their ready to eat sausages as well because I know they are made on the premises. I will also buy regular pepperoni there, but you have to be careful, they mix up the honey garlic with the regular sometimes.
Honestly, I don't know the exact ingredients, but I've eaten them through this whole year, and I just make sure we don't have them too often. I don't get any cravings or anything after eating them, so they work for me.

I was wondering if sugarfree depot was still in business anymore! The low carb store downtown Vic closed a few months ago. I don't really shop at either of the stores, but I do miss the selection of Torani sf syrups the downtown one had. I buy, like, one bottle a year, mind you, but it was good knowing there was a wide variety of flavours to choose from if I wanted something new.
Sugarfree carries Stasero (strasero?) syrup, and their chocolate isn't as good as Torani's.
It's taken me over a year to finish a bottle of Atkins Ketchatomato, so that shows how much of it I use, lol...so I guess I'll be searching to find it somewhere now.

I just wanted to let you guys in Canada know, I have been ordering some low carb items, over the net. www.feelgreatfoods.ca The shipping costs are reasonable, $5.95 an order, and they deliver within 5 working days. The prices are great, some of the carb option products are available for really cheap prices. They are totally reliable, and are really quick to get back to you if there is a problem. It's a great choice for we "Canadians" who always go to our southern neighbours for alot of things. So hurray for feelgreatfoods!!! :joy

I've ordered DaVinci syrups from them. I agree, a great company. Fast, reliable and quick to respond to inquiries. I'm trying to get another bottle of syrup, but they don't carry DaVinci right now. Apparantly they're trying to get it in plastic bottles as they've been a shipping nightmare.

Here is another..though i've never tried them. I think they base their shipping on order weight (they ship canada post). Between the two we can probably get alot of products which is great! I'd been searching forever too: http://www.lowcarbfooddepot.com/
That is because they are discontinuing that line in canada. When I talked to someone at the company she warned be to be VERY careful with any clearance products i find...The sauces do have expiry dates! So keep your eye out...The prices are great, some of the carb option products are available for really cheap prices.
I'm sure the ketchup and drink mixes would be fine.
One thing the site above does have that I'm dying to try is the carbquick bake mix..apparently it's very very good.Jen, 39, F

I bought some Hickory Farm bacon and is cured with sugar as one of the ingredients and only have eaten it twice and will finish it up and go to the meat market where they cut up fresh meat and get some bacon....
Alot to learn on this diet and I am sure I will be fine eating what is left. Johnny :guns
