The first time i did atkins I lost weight..5-7 pnds...I got down to 130 or so...i looked a lot better..i did this when i was w/ my fam on vacation and i was unfamiliar w the diet being new to it and i did read the book..and i kinda mde it **** for the family when i was there getting me cheese and meat and complications like does this have sugar or bla bla..now im home and im trying to lose weight again. the low cal option is working too slow for me..and im eating like nothing and excersising like an hr a day..my mom says atkins is terrible for u..and our doctor does too..but id wanna do it for a month to get rid of some pounds..i know its a way of life but after atkins i look to incorporate healthy bread and stuff and eat healthy...kinda non atkinish..i kow hot to eat healthy but i need weight loss.. and i cant do atkins after 1 mnth bc of where im going, camp...just trust me i cant. so we r going on vacation next weeka nd my whole fam is scared it will turn intol the last vacation where everyone revolved around my atkins and specifications. i feel like i can do it ok bc i now know how to do it...and there r complicatins on vacation bc we r staying w grandparents and we have to pretend to eat certain things and not certain things..religiously and we cant eat meat..only fish..ahh i feel atkins will be a better weight loss for camp. ..and i dont wanna starve again. im sick of these diets. help is it worth it for my fam to be mad at me even if i want this weight loss so bad..my mom was just angry and like yelling at me.that she doesnt want this atkins **** all over again..like buyingh me meat and bla bla when the whole family is..ahh whatever.. help please

For people like me who are pre-diabetic, "healthy bread" is an oxymoron.i look to incorporate healthy bread...
You're outnumbered. You're going to have to learn how to eat around their way of eating without compromising yours. It's difficult, yes, but it's not impossible.my whole fam is scared it will turn into the last vacation where everyone revolved around my atkins
You don't have to eat meat to be on Atkins. Fish is perfectly ok. The only non-negotiable on Atkins are veggies.we cant eat meat..only fish
Is it worth it? Only you can answer that question. You know Atkins works for you. Just how badly do you want your weight loss?
Personally, was it worth it for me? It worked wonders for my self-esteem. My blood cholesterol has never been better. I no longer fear getting diabetis which has plagued my mother's side of the family for generations. I'd say it was damn worth it.Robbie T., 240/180/160. 41yr Male, Height 5'9"

Hi Laurenad :wave
If only you had done Atkins the first time by doing a 14-day induction then moving to OWL :hug
You would already be well past the grain rung and been able to eat whole grain bread as much as you wanted :sadblinky
And maintenance is a most healthy WOE where you can eat most foods except sugar and overprocessed junk food. :yes
I don't think doing a long induction again will shift the number of pounds you want to lose as quickly as you hope but you could always try again if you are determined.
This time get into ketosis by eating at induction levels for a few days then move on to OWL 'by the book' and see what happens :hug but unless you have been eating high carbs for the last few weeks I doubt you will see a big weightloss in induction as you probably havent got a lot of 'water weight' to lose. :hugWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Laurenad - I am sorry if my post came across as saying that you wouldnt be able to lose some weight - I just wanted to suggest that you might not find you have the fast weightlosses in induction that anyone who hasnt been dieting before induction is likely to get. :hug
And as you are doing your exercise you might find that you will be losing inches as well so you will look as if you have lost more pounds too!!
Good luck in your lowcarbing :hugWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
