DRINK UP! WATER CHALLENGE
Originally posted by Dr. Atkins in DANDR
Many of us don't get enough water for whatever reason. We get busy, we substitute, we just plain forget. A challenge gives us an added extra incentive to drink our minimum of 64 ounces of H2O daily, plus you can earn another nifty little award.
Simply sign up in this thread, tell us how many ounces you will commit to per day and report your progress during the 5 days of the challenge. If you accomplish getting in your minimum required amount of water each of the 5 days, then you will earn the award.

Here's some helpful hints
- Besides the 64 ounces per day, you should be drinkiing an additional 8 ounces for each addtional 25 pounds you want to lose. In other words, if you are 50 pounds away from your goal weight, you should be drinking your minimum of 64 ounces plus another 16 ounces.
- Space out your water consumption trying not to overload and catch up in the late hours of the day.
- Keep track of the amounts by using measured containers. For example, 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon milk cartons or other type of pitcher or drinking bottled water in 16 or 20 ounce marked containers.
- measurements:
pint = 16 oz.
quart = 32 oz.
1/2 gallon = 64 oz.
gallon = 128 oz. - and a conversion chart for those needing it http://www.worldwidemetric.com/metcal.htm
