Re: I Am Worth It Challenge II
· Why are you here at the ADBB? I am here at ADBB to get, as well as give, emotional support as I make this long-awaited, improved health-seeking journey.
· Why are you doing Atkins? I am doing Atkins to lose weight, to improve my overall wellbeing - decrease the pressure of the arthritis in my spine, and to get out of the obese category (on the BMI chart).
· What does the word “commitment” mean to you? The word "commitment" means (to me) making a promise (give your word) to follow through with something.
“Commitment is what transforms the promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions and the actions which speak louder than
words. It is making the time when there is none. It means coming through time after time, year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of; the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism”
MY COMMENTS on how the above passage applies to me: I will be committed to making positive changes within myself by restructuring the way that I eat and the foods that I eat. The reality will be a healthy weight and improved health. By committing to this challenge I have boldly let everyone know that I am willing to do what it takes to achieve my goals. Preparation and planning (cooking food the night before, keeping healthy snacks on hand, taking my lunch and snacks to work) have helped me to achieve my goals thus far. By sticking to plan I have lost 1/3 of the weight I need to reach goal. I WILL lose the other 69 pounds by staying committed.
