    DRINK UP! WATER CHALLENGE
    ~~~~~


    Many of us don't get enough water for whatever reason. We get busy, we substitute, we just plain forget and sometimes we just don't care.

    There are several calculations for determining just how much water one should drink per day.

    Originally Posted by Dr. Atkins in our DANDR
    You must drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of pure water daily. This can be filtered, mineral or spring water (not seltzer).

    Other calculations for water consumption per day include drinking 1/2 your body weight, drinking 62 ounces plus 8 ounces for every 25 pounds you want to lose and even drinking the minimum plus 8 ounces for every cup of coffee you drink. However........................

    RULES OF THE CHALLENGE
    1. SIGN UP! Signing up is simple, jsut make a post and you're done.
    2. You will be committing to drinking the minimum of 64 ounces of plain water. I don't care if you drink 80 or 100 or whatever. I am only concerned with the minimum of 64 ounces.
    3. Post daily. This will help you stay more committed.

    Here's some helpful hints
    • Space out your water consumption trying not to overload and catch up in the late hours of the day.
    • Keep track of the amounts by using measured containers. For example, 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon milk cartons or other type of pitcher or drinking bottled water in 16 or 20 ounce marked containers.
    • Keep your water bottle/glass/container near you during the day. Set it on your desk, take it with you if you walk, etc. Having it handy makes it easier.

    measurements:
    pint = 16 oz.
    quart = 32 oz.
    1/2 gallon = 64 oz.

            jlewis, not to worry, you have a few days to 'practice' getting thata 64 oz. in. we won't start counting for real till feb 1

              Sign me up! I'm drinking 64 ounces plus 16 more for the 40lbs I want to lose. I currently weight 225lbs and am 6'1".

                This challenge is perfect for me since I have hard time getting all my water in. I am in, and am gonna work it.
                Re re starting this time for good with the support of my husband. He is doing this with me.

                    thank y'all for not making me do this challenge by myself! i'm glad to see that many of you already drink the minimum and then some. this will be an easy challenge for you, an easy award to earn
