  • Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

Long time lurker... I had read over the sticky:Bellys be GONE Challenge

I think it's time to start a new one..Anybody willing to join me?
I have committed to doing 50 Crunches per day!! And 30 minutes Cardio

If you are interested -- you can set your own regimen, as long as you are doing something to help contribute to shrinking your waistline. ( I know no such thing as spot reducing ) but i think this will be a great/fun incentive...

All you have to do is post your starting waist and/or abdomen measurements and the current (as it changes). Um... I think on a weekly basis may work. I've never done this before, so forgive me if it sounds stupid.

I need to get rid of this belly! lol.

    MY MEASUREMENTS:
    Starting Waist: 38"
    Starting Abdomen: 42"

(oh... to measure your waist, place the tape around your natural waist, navel level. to measure your abdomen, measure approx. 2 inches below your navel.)

    BELLYS BE GONE CHALLENGE II

Re: Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

I'll join you. I've never been a fan of ab exercises. I'd always skip out of cardio classes at the gym when they'd pull out the mats with 15 minutes left. I know this is weak, but my goal for this challenge is to do 50 crunches once a day -OR- do some sort of ab workout for 5-10 minutes. Lately I've been doing exercises from the cable "On Demand" channels... you know, pick a program, play it whenever. They're commercial free and they don't cost anything. I think they have a bunch of ab workouts there. I do other exercises during the week, but I don't want to add that to this challenge. Too much pressure!

      My starting measurements:
      Waist: 40.75"
      Abdomen: 46"
(Disclaimer: I measured like 18 times and got different measurements each time. I think I'm too, uhhh... curvy to get accurate measurements!)

Re: Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

I did about 6 minutes of an ab workout program (from the TV) on Saturday morning. I didn't do anything yesterday. Today I ran 3 miles, and now I'll do my 50 crunches.

Thanks for the PM GoodGRL. I do have an exercise ball, so I should probably start using that.

Re: Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

I think joining this challenge might be a good idea for me. most of my weight is in this flabtastic stomach of mine!! Is it okay if I join?

My waistline (if you can call it that lol) is about 47.5 inches. I'll have to measure later to be sure. I just started with ab exercises a few days ago and it took me three days to recover from the soreness! That showed me that I really need to do those exercises more often.

I use an xbox game "Yourfitness" that has a variety of target workouts. I committ to doing the ab-exercise routine at least 3 times a week. In addition, I do cardio at least 5 times a week.

I have no idea what my goal should be, so I will just work as hard as I can and hope my waistline gets smaller.

I look forward to working on this challenge with everyone!

I didn't think we had to do what everyone else is as posted here... What do you do besides the obvious? I am content with my crunches for now... But looking forward to your ideas!

Re: Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

The ab workout that I followed from the TV program totally kicked my butt. It was only a 10 minute workout, but I couldn't finish it. It was pretty standard stuff, but I never do anything, which is why it felt impossible.

                        Some of the exercises were:

                        1. Laying on your back with your arms stretched out behind your head (on the floor). Cross your feet and then bring them up, then raise your hips off the floor. The key to this is to not swing your legs and use momentum to raise your hips, but to do it slow and controlled so you're using your abs to control the raising and the lowering.

                        2. Lay on your back with your knees & feet off the floor at a 90 degree angle (knees in line with your hips, and calves parallel to the floor). Slowly and controlled, alternate streching your legs out flat and then bringing back to staring position. It's almost like a horizontal bicycle move. I can do about 3 of these before my legs feel like lead and collapse to the floor.

The rest were pretty much all variations of the crunch.

Oh! I just thought of another one that I used to do. This is one you can do anywhere. Stand up, contract your abs, and then wiggle your chest side to side using your abs muscles. Try to keep your hips stationary. This is a good one to do throughout the day, even if it's only for 20 seconds here and there. I think I'll do some of those right now!

Re: Bellyz Be Gone Challenge II?

                          How is everyone doing??

Well I don't feel like my belly is dissapearing at all, but at least the scale is being nice to me lately! I have been exercising between 45 minutes to an hour each day this week, and it really payed off in a 4 pound weight loss.. That is the most I have ever lost in a single week!!

I did ab workouts twice this week via the xbox fitness game. Sometimes I think that virtual personal trainer is trying to kill me!

Hope everyone has a great week!

                          EDIT
