  • Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge

I'm checking in with another 4-pound loss because I spilled the beans in another forum.

I'll respond to your posts in a little bit.

Woman, please post menus if it helps you! I like accountability, myself, and chix likes getting the menu ideas!

Darnit, cruiser! I'm so sorry! {{{cruiser}}} Thanks for keeping me straight! I edited the number... thanks for letting me know!

To everyone else, I have NOT forgotten about you! I've had a sicky kid today so I'm a little flighty. I want to revisit your posts in the morning.

Hey Cleo.. I was just wondering if it might not be a good idea to just weigh in once a week so you don't have to keep updating our totals so often.

Chixie-- you are so right! I made it once a week, but since not everyone weighs in the same day, I end up updating often.

I can reset the weigh-in day.

              Shall we do a poll?

What weigh-in day should we choose for the challenge?

It had been Monday (to keep people on track during the weekends), but if a Thursday is better for all, then by golly, let's go for Thursday, et al.

Well, I am going to post this today, since I am doing the happy dance here. I am down a pound today at 210.5. This is significant because it means I have now lost 70 pounds!!!! It is TOM, so I am especially happy to not have a water weight gain.

Cleo, would it be ok if we posted our losses more often, but you only updated our list once a week or should we only post our losses once a week?

I am so thankful to have all of you to celebrate our losses together. My best friend and I started Weight Watchers together at the beginning of the year. She fell off the wagon and quit and has gained even more weight. I switched to Atkins and have now lost 70 pounds. I never bring up how much I have lost because I don't want it to be like rubbing it in. If she asks me, I will tell her. I always tell my husband about my losses and he is always supportive, but sometimes I just need to celebrate with some girlfriends that have the same struggles and are going through the same things. So, thanks for being here with me and for me everyone. You all rock.

Congrats everyone on your losses. You all are the best bunch of Loser Friends a girl could ask for!

                  I agree-- cruisergal looks awesome!

WomanPraised-- good on you for planning a menu in advance! I think it looks good. Have you plugged any of the numbers into fitday, or are you feeling pretty confident in your percentages? Do you snack at all? If so, what do you generally eat?

If you want to post a new menu each week on our new MYE Challenge, you are MORE than welcome to.

{{{Twg}}} To be honest, it's easiest for me to either update as you report, or to have everyone only update once a week on weight. This is only because I am compulsive about keeping things updated. When I'm not I do things like miss cruisergal's pound loss!

I feel really badly when I miss someone!

I'm so glad you are down again!

                    Tell you what.

                    Happy medium.

I'll update the most recent totals, but not post a NEW one.

Way to go on your success, twg! It's so nice to have you here! And I agree. It must be so nice to be able to see your friend shrink, too, even if WW is less yummy and quick as Atkins!

Cleo..congrats on the 4 pounds down! You are rockin' girl!!

twg! Weigh to go! What an awesome feeling that must be. My dietbuddy/SIL/bestfriend is also doing WW. We started the same day. She is doing pretty good so far. I am not too far ahead of her in weight lose...I think 5 pounds.

Weighing in....I am okay with one day a week. However my weigh day has been Thursday. I would like to not be adding more weigh days in as I am trying to stay off the scale. Though I am wondering if I should go on it more since I am climbing the rungs...but it was just such a huge accomplishment not to be stepping on that thing everyday, several times. I do think that we should all, at the very least, limit ourselves to reporting here to once a week. Not everyday for those that are stepping on the scale everyday.

However...since you are doing the updating Cleo...I am cool with whatever works for you. I am also cool if you feel the need to pass the updating along to someone else. Let me know and I can do that.

                      What does everyone think?

Hey Cleo, don't feel bad about missing once in a blue moon. I am just so grateful that you have taken this upon yourself to do all this for us. Whatever makes it easier for you to do will be great. Be in once a week, or whenever. Afterall we're all in this together, and we should help eachother out in all ways! Thx again for coordinating this, and congrats on doing so well yourself! You're awesome girl, and a delight to read...wish you lived closer, would love to have you as an in person friend, not just a virtual friend!!!

                          Elsie-- Would you like to keep track of ther numbers? If so, that would be great! This would free me up to wreak less math havok on all of us! *lol*!!! {{{Elsie}}}

                          How about

we all weigh in only once a week, but we choose our own day, and

since I will begin a new thread each Sunday, we can have Elsie plug the new numbers into the new thread each week and keep updating on page 1, rather than digging through the pages of posts?

Sound ok? I want this to be an annual event, so I appreciate us working together towards organization. Any feedback helps immeasurably!

{{{Cruisergal, you are so sweet! Thank you for the kudos}}} I agree! If we lived closer, while we'd probably get arrested (kidding!) it would be a wonderful time! It's hard finding Atkineers (unless I've converted them), especially in new towns!

Got it Cleo. I will keep track starting from this email. And then add to the new thread and edit it there. So that it doesn't keep showing up through the posts...is that what you mean? Good idea. Also means you guys will have to go check out the new thread every week. I have noticed how quiet that thread was...LOL...you sneaky girl Cleo!

Cleo...you may want to post the link for the new thread every week here in this forum though. So I am off to add the weights to the this weeks thread.

Cleo....do they report the weight lose here or on the thread or either?
