Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Hey, sorry I'm late, I have been out and about all day and didn't see the challenge until just now. Thanks for starting the topic Sarah, it looks awesome.

Wow, I am so glad to see all of these people on here. I know that this month we are all going to do fantastic. Sarah and I worked hard last month and we saw great results from our hard work, I can't wait to start up tomorrow and see some more great results at the end of THIS month too.

Well I am going to give up the heavy cream in support of Sarah, but I will still eat some sour cream, sparingly. Also I plan on cutting out most of the artificial sweeteners, I notice that even splenda causes me to have cravings some times, and I could definatly do without those. I will limit myself to a cup of coffee a week max with sweetener, any other time will be black.

I will work out as hard as I can this entire month. I will probably do mostly the SI6 because I have really been seeing results with that, but I don't want to limit myself to only that.

ALSO I WILL NOT CHEAT!!! I know that if I remain cheat free for this entire month that I will see increadible results in myself, and not just physical results.

Ok guys, lets work really hard to keep ourselves legal this month. I'm here for anybody who needs encouragment, motivation, or a good swift kick in the ***.

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Ok i'm here now. Finally the board is up. I've been waiting all day! I'm ready to start this. I did get on the scale this morning to get a starting weight.........ooooouch! I lost 14lbs on induction, next week I went off, and am now back up 9lbs. I gotta do this!

I'm gonna be here all the time, just a warning, i'm gonna need support! It seems like everyone else in this world is TOTALLY against Atkins. Even though they've never tried it. So they continue to cram 12 loaf's of bread into their face and wonder why they are big? Hmm...I wonder?

My problem will be not to cheat. Once I get started i'm fine, just getting through the first couple days is what usually breaks me. I get massive migraines and end up eating something I shouldnt. Today was good so far though, the migraines arent as bad this time around. Anther problem is CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE. I love it and it fills me up, so I usually end up eating more than aloud.

I'm so glad to be apart of this team! I can just tells its going to help a HUGE amount, because of Sarah and Yoly, you're both so helpful.

No, Wanna, you can't cut out ADBB...sorry, uhuh.

Thanks for the 4-1-1 on the ICES, Sarah. I am now in complete understanding

Okay, so giving up coffee doesn't seem so bad, but I'm itching really bad for the scale. Someone please pass me the Anti-Itch cream. The scale is the garage on the top shelf far far away. It's a sad sight, me that is. lol! No pop, 'cause there's none in the house.

I'm considering the Induction phase. Just considering, I'll see what happens next week after TOM.

Giving up cream? Well, that's automatic with not having coffee. BUT I so use the cream in my eggmuffins for breakfast, but that's about it. Sour cream? Sparingly, and useage for mexican food Okay, so cream is cut back.

Exercise? Yep, I'm there. 5 days a week...Exercise Challenge is 4/7, guess who's gunna bump up her days next time?

Thanks for the challenge, Sarah & Yolly!

I know I could post this somewhere else but I thought i'd give it a shot

I bought Jennie-O turkey patties. No carbs no sugar, ingredients just turkey and natural flavorings...? are these ok to eat? they are perfect to just eat on the go.....im hoping they are?

Also what is a frankenfood? I heard sarah mention it about yoly's ketchup in the last challenge.

SARAH-YOUR PICTURE IS WONDERFUL! YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL! I can't believe the difference!

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

              Hi all...

I've been sitting here thinking and thinking about what I want to get out of my life!

And the thing that gives me problems is low carb ice cream...I tend to eat too much (ignoring portion control). I don't do it very often, maybe 2 times a month, but I really don't want it around at all.

The other thing I'm going to give up is...coffee ... I can hardly type it...I love my coffee, but it is a crutch and it's a daily 'thing'.

The last thing I'm going to do is change my weigh-in day from September 17 (as originally planned) to October 12!

              So, that's my plan...

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Right on Everyone we are all off to A great start Glad to see you all Posting I couldn't get on the board for Hours or I would ahve posted this Morning (((SOB))) Yes, I am addicted.

So Lisa, looks like you are off and running matter of speakingly ( is that a work) Looks like we have everything going well so far. It''ll be hard the first few days without the scale but, I know you can do it. (((((BIG HUG)))

Speedy looks like you are doing well, Frankenfoods are basically all those things you can buy for the Low carb Way of eating. They are usually filled with fake sugar preservatives etc, all the things that stall us folk who are trying sooo hard to get on the right track and oh, did I say cravings sometimes the littlest bite brings on the most horrendous cravings and Diarreah...((((EEEEK))) So don't have it if you can avoid it. I figure If I can't make it myself and know what's in it I won't have it at all. I know you can do it this time you ahve your cheering section and I am sooo very happy you are here with us. If you can get through this week with all the support please lean on us if you need but, please don't give up if you give in it defeates the purpose of this Challenge and we wouldn't want that.

So Shelly you have finally decided what you are going to give up. Oh, Ice cream is bad and the store bought stuff is even worse I don't buy it it gives me the gut cramps from **** and I have the worst stomach ache so I make my own. I won't be doing that as I have basically taken that out of my WOE I am allergic and it makes me stuffy and congested so Nope I won't be having that.

This challenge has really taught me a lot about myself basically when Yoly and I started it was an innocent challenge we were both having problems in areas and were way too concerned with the numbers on the scale then how we were actually feeling, now without the scle to slow me down I go more by how I feel, by how my clothes are fitting and by how many inches I am losing. I noticed as the challenge went on I no longer had the ups and downs that I had with weighing 4 times per day and sometimes seeing the fluctuations up and down with TOM salt exercise. It was rediculous. I would look at the scale and that stupid number would guage how I would feel for the day.

In this challenge I have also learned a lot about my eating and I actually feel and know when my body is in ketosis and working properly. Before I had no idea. It's funny but, now if I put something in my mouth that may be higher in carbs then I anticipated I know it and it's gone. It makes me feel instantly sick, alsoi with the cream I noticed that my constant stuffy nose went away, my asthmatic symptoms have improved and I feel 100x better. So far I have not been sick in over a month and if any of you know my history that is a miracle in itself I feel fantastic.

I have become only what I had dreamed of becomming who says you need carbs to run I sure as **** don't I am up to running 10 miles straight for 4 weeks ago when I was only running 7 I have increased my milage per long run by 3 miles, this is not only cause I am dedicated it's also cause I am stubborn as all **** I will admit it. I would rather run to reach my goal I set for myself then quit when I am this close to getting there. To me reaching as High as I can go is what modivates me to press on even harder and reach farther this is something I never belived achievalbe when I started but, I have done it and now know it's my mind that guids me when everything is hard. I press through and impress myself every time I get out there and do it. That's what makes me me.

I am sorry if this is a huge entry but, I jsut wanted to share how special this Challenge is to me and How Special Yoly is she is My rock, and so are all of you if ever I need a shoulder I know you'll all be here to hold me up till I get back up. That's why this place is GREAT.

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Thanks Sarah, I would never have been able to come this far without you. You keep me going strong and steady, I'm so lucky.***(kisses)

Ok, well I must fess up, after taking 3 days of rest I was really scared of doing my SI6 tonite, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to keep up, I was so nervous that I almost talked myself out of doing it, isn't that silly. Well I popped it in and not only could I keep up but I increased my resistance to 3 pound wieghts!!! I was doing 2 pounds last week and felt like I was going to die, I feel great!

I had a great day of extended induction today, I ate all of my veges and drank all of my water. I forgot to take my supplements this morning though, but I will take them first thing tomorrow.

I weighed myself this morning for the last time and I am now at 190! I can't believe it, by the end of this challenge I will be 180 something, this is a miracle for me, I never though it was possible and I have atkins, this board, and you sarah, I have you to thank for keeping me here, for encouraging me through this challenge. You rock!!! I think that when I get to goal instead of buying myself a present I'll buy YOU something, lol.

I'm so glad to see everyone here, I think we are getting off to a great start!

I worked out today even though I *really* didn't want to. I've got a ton of homework I need to do and the kids are driving me NUTS this morning.

But darnit, I did a measly 10 minutes on the treadmill. It's not a ton, but it is better than nothing!!

I seriously have to study hard today!!!

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Great job on getting up and out there Kimberly, go slow and you'll soon be doing a lot more. Don't worry about how much, just as long as your doing something, building up your resistance, and staying active. GO YOU!!!

Speedy - If your just starting out I would really recommend the WATP tapes, work your way up. I did 1 then 2 and I finally got to 3 miles. I felt like it was getting pretty easy so I decided to try something a little more challenging. I got the Slim in 6, I think of it as my secret weapon. You know, when nothing else is working anymore and your stalled out and you really need to up your workout intensity level then pull out the Slim in 6. If you feel like your ready for this then I would totally recommend it to you, it is an awesome program. Only you can decide if it's for you or not though, good luck.

Ok as for me, I did Start it Up last night and felt great, I was kind of nervous aboutit, I thought I might not be able to keep up because I took 3 days off. But not only did I keep up I upped my resistance, I am now using 3 pound weights. I was using 2 pound weights last week and thought I would keel over and die. LOL, so this is really working for me. I did good this morning, I made a small breakfast, I packed my lunch (1 cup ground beef w/sour cream and louisiana hot sauce and 2 cups of salad with ceasar dressing), and the thing I'm most proud of: I took my supplements! I have such a hard time with this, but i was able to choke them down this morning.

It's still early and I have class today so I won't be able to workout until this evening, but I will do Start it Up again tonite, if it's still kinda easy then I will move into Ramp it Up on WEdnesday, I'll keep you guys posted.

How is everyone else doing with food and excercise?

Well im doing the WATP 2.5 mile walk\jog and im fine with that. I'd like to get Slim in 6 though, then when I feel like I can, I will do that and just work my way up to doing it everynight instead of WATP. I'd like something to kick my butt, not just a leisure jog for 30 minutes And I've heard alot of people talk about it, and I searched on google for it and it said $14.95 plus s&h, is that the right thing or is it more expensive? For some reason I thought it was.

Yoly: What's sad is that I normally work out 6 days/week for at least 40 minutes each day.... I'm just being a lazy butt today!! LOL! I can easily do an hour on the treadmill if I want!!

I normally work out with dh in the evening but we have to do something else tonight so I had to do it alone. And dd has a fever so I couldn't go to the Y. Excuses excuses. So I was a DORK.
