Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread For the Week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2

    Hi Everyone!

I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by...... it will be Christmas before we know it! It's dark here already now at 7pm.

Thanks Elsie for keeping track of our losses.

My new stats are 40 to lose/15.5 lost/24.5 to go

    With regards to Cleo's questions:
How much do you do now?
3 x 40 mins hard cardio at the gym (x-trainer, treadmill (hill) and bike (speed)
swimming with daughter once a week. Mostly splashing around than exercise though LOL!
Can you add an extra 15 minutes a day to your regime?

It's not easy as my daughter is in the creche. I'll tell you what - I will add 5 mins to my gym sessions and add in a 15-20 min walk on the days I don't exercise - how's that?!!

    Good luck everyone!!

      Cleo,
I'd like to join in on this challenge if it's not too late. I really think a short-term goal (only 3 mos. to NYears!) would really help me get motivated and have something to focus on. Goal setting has worked for me in the past pretty well. Plus, i need you guys to hold me accountable!
Just let me know what I need to do/post each week.
As for exercise, I'm starting 30min/day tomorrow, and joining Brook's BCtcCW challenge Oct. 1st.
Let me know if it's ok to join....

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread For the Week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2

My weight this week is 186.5. I REALLY want to get to 185 even before the end of the month. I'm going camping/rafting this Friday, Saturday & Sunday, and I know that will be a challenge. My goal is to not gain any weight over the weekend.

I posted about this in my journal too, but I'm still very upset about it -- I went to the park to rollerblade yesterday, which I've been doing a few times a month since the spring, and I was told by some guy walking around the park that I'm not allowed to rollerblade. Sure enough, it's posted on the sign. I was there at 7:30am, and that one guy was walking, and there was one other person there as well. The whole loop around the park is 3/4 of a mile, so it's a pretty big loop. I could see obeying the "no rollerblading" rule if it was jam packed with people, but come on! I ended up going home right after he told me I couldn't rollerblade, but I was very bitter. I don't want to be a ***** and break the rules, but who's it really hurting?

i am here and the diet is still going. I am down to 226 actually. But the exercise thing has not happened and I feel very unmotivated. I figure if I just stick to the food part the exercise can slide for a week. Since my brother-in-law died on the 18th, we have all been blah and the house is a wreck and my husband is on an awful emotional rollercoaster and it is all I can do to cook dinner for my kids. Depressing. Its not really THAT bad, just not ready to get back into the swing of daily life yet. I just joined the 6WEC too, and now I will have to drop that. I need one of y'all to come over here and kick my behive into shape because I find myself sleeping a lot.

Thanks for listening! I am hanging in there with you all even though I have not checked in for days. Put me down for 4.5 pounds lost cleo!

I'm here. Nothing new to report since I'm participating in boot camp and have been told to throw the scale away for two weeks.

Everything is going very well. I'm exercising a lot and eating well on extended induction. I feel good about this challenge and even if I don't make my goal I will still be happy because I gave it my all.

Sorry I'm checking in so late here on Wednesday, but I'm still working!!!
So I am on day three of my restart, cheatfree, and day one of joining this challenge. Effie, you can put down 150 as my goal for New Year's. I got up and did my exercise. Wish I could say I enjoy it, but it's just something I have to do to make my goal. When I have time, I'll try to put together a work-out CD so that I can get a little more motivated. Since I'm just back on the wagon for three days, I'll hold off on posting any weightloss until next week.

Cleo, you are the most motivational person on this board for me right now! I KNOW you will make your goal. Soon, very soon, 200 lbs. will be a distant memory for you!

I love you guys so much it hurts!

Or maybe it's because I'm also sitting on a breast (don't look at me that way...they droop).

I am so glad you are all still around, and I miss you so much! I walk EVERY NIGHT I can because I want us all to do this together! I do!

You are VERY special to me. I hope you know this.

I walked for 1.5 miles on the treadmill at a nice incline at 3.5 speed. It felt good to exercise again. I was down another .5 this morning to 207.5.

What is Bootcamp and how does it work? What do you eat, etc. I should have started that, but did not have any idea what it was.

I am so scared right now. My hair is falling out at an alarming rate. After about 4 months on this WOE it started falling out some, so I started taking Biotin. It slowed down and I did not give it another thought. Well, for the past couple of weeks it has started to REALLY fall out big time. I have increased my biotin and other vitamins and am also using Nioxin shampoo, scalp treatment, etc., but it is getting scary. I don't know what to do.

Great job everyone on your losses and exercise and attitude. I am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of people.

Hair will fall out temporarily. That's to be xpected...wait 'til you see what grows back. IT's more gorgeous, thick, and healthy!

Unfortunately this was not the case with my leg or armpit hair.

Bootcamp is extremely rigorous and a lot of work for the recruits and people in charge. I'm thankful to be a part of it, but I REALLY miss being with you guys here in the challenge! I will come by and give you hugs and noogies!

Please feel free to check in with menus and exercise if you guys want, too! I like what twg just did., I'm going to start that, too!

I am so blessed to know you guys! I love you!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread For the Week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2

My hair is falling out too. [I'm going into month 6 of Atkins.] I always knew it could happen at some point, but wasn't expecting to be so alarmed about just how *much* would fall out.

There are clumps of hair on my pillow every morning. Tons more in the shower. If I pull my hair, a bunch comes out too. Its scary.

I'm just waiting it out though, because I've read over and over again how it will pass. I just hope it passes sooner, rather than later!

As for my check-in - I'm doing great! I feel more committed to exercise than ever before, now that I'm participating in both the BCtcCW Challenge AND the 6WEC challenge. My weight loss is slowly making its way back down again. And while I'd lost my confidence in my ability to do this right for a while there (when things weren't moving as they were before), I think my new plan (up the rungs at 30g), my renewed vigor for exercise, and the scale confirming it all is bringing it all back!

So I'm happy. And damnit, if its the last thing I do, I WILL lose these 9lbs by New Years.
