      Woo hoo! All you losers!

To all who are in the boat that I was and am in....I'm just not losing like I want to, yet.

Woohooo! Weight to go breaking that "pause"! Wo oho!

The scale. I'd like to hide it until Nov 5th. But then I have fear that I would bring it out on that day and it would either be the same or more. How does one go without it for so long, and survive?

No change here for me either. I'm just in scrappy mood at the moment. lol.

Congrats rybread!!! I know it felt like a long time to come for you. Did you figure out what it was or do you think your body was just catching up??

        Zarabelle...Thanks!

Lisa_M...Hang in there....it will come off. Just stay true. I, myself, have become a scale slave once again. I do admit to stepping on it first thing in the morning...my reasoning to this is because I am going through the rungs and adding new stuff in and I want to see if it shows up there...good or bad. If it is good..then I am happy...if it is bad then I know that I need to watch closely what I am doing that particular week with the new food. So far so good but I am up to 32 carbs this week so could be getting close to my limit....or not...if I am lucky!

Down 1 more pound - 193. (Slow and steady wins the race.)
I am so insired by this challenge - even though I am losing at a slow rate - I love the updates from all the members.

Just an update - the sugery went well and now I am actually alternating b/t shoes and my sexy little boot. Hopefully in a week the stitches will be out and I can start going on small walks.

            Way to go, ajakol!

It's SO nice to have a day where I'm busier than a one-handed spanker in an S&M factory and I know you'll all still be here supporting each other!

Now I have to get dinner on the table and a boy to a scout meeting! The girls just came home from karate!

            Love you!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

Way to go Rybread! Just goes to show ya that persistence pays off!

Lisa M, I've got that same fear of hiding the scale that you do. My alternative, which worked for me in the first month or two of Atkins, is to weigh everyday but only count it as being true on any one day, say, every Monday. All the other days, you can weigh, but you can't react. So, if you're up 5 pounds on Friday, you just say, "Phew, thank god it's not Monday". And then don't stress about how to lose 5 pounds by Monday either. This was easy in the beginning, but I don't know if I could do this now. The reason I got off track with this is because my lowest weights during the week were NEVER on my weigh-in day, and I felt like I was being cheated out of my success, so then I just started counting it regardless of the day. Now every morning is a battle.

I'm still up to 190, which is what I was last Tuesday. This is not water weight, folks. Elsie, you can update me on the chart. I'm bogging us down and I'm sorry.

                Effie-- you're not bogging anyone down! We will make our goals by New Year's! I believe in you! Temporary set-backs are part of being human! {{{Effie}}}

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone has a great day. I have a busy day ahead of me with errands, Costco shopping, hair appointment, oil change, and Gold's gym.

                  Menu today:

Breakfast: My usual 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon and coffee with 1 T. of half and half.

                  Lunch: not sure yet

Dinner: Pork tenderloin in the crockpot, steamed broccoli and garden salad with 1 T Ranch dressing

And "they" say eating Atkins is unhealthy.

Effie, you are definitely NOT bogging us down. Life has its ups and downs and so does the scale. Hang in there and follow the plan and you will be rewarded with a loss. Think of your non-scale victories to keep you motivated. That is what I am trying to do right now as the scale is not moving even though I am NOT cheating. I am still determined to stay off of the scale until November 1. I had a non-scale victory last night at Bible study. Every lady at my table was eating the most incredible looking chocolate brownies. Chocolate is my favorite thing, especially gooey, fudgy brownies. All these ladies are TINY too and NOT fat, so I could not say to myself.......if I eat that brownie I will look like like them. NOT fair! I resisted though. I didn't eat any brownies and it felt good to be in control. I am committed to this goal to better health. Looking better is just a bonus in my opinion.

                  Hang in there everyone!

WOOHOO on your NSV Tammy!!! I am so proud of you for being a good example last night at Bible study! As you shrink and shrink and shrink, everyone's eyes will be on you! Why do we need to drug ourselves with chocolate? Isn't it really affirming to give God an unclouded and 'best' self? Why do we need to worship Him while also having to stimulate our seratonin? That says something. Religion doesn't have to be the 'opiate of the masses' when fudge doodles seem to be.

                    You just rock.

Lisa - Thanks!! HOw's the scale hiding going? I haven't stepped on mine since Monday. Small steps...

Elsie - Definitely think my body was just catching up, since I'm not really doing anything differently than I was before!

Effie - Thanks! Patience is definitely a virtue!

I am 1 pound down. I upped my carbs this week to 32 so will leave them there for another week and see what happenes next week as I have been usually losing 2 pounds. And then decide at next weeks weigh in if I need to drop back or if I can add carbs. Very....um...nerve wracking!

rybread....so it was a lesson of patience then?? I think my lesson is coming up soon. SIGH!
