Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

{{{{{Nikki}}}}} You have been doing SO amazingly! Just keep exercising like you mean it (and girl I know you do)(why did that just sound like MilliVanilli lyrics), and do what you can do! That's all that matters! Giving it your best in spite of what you have to work with! In the absence of the food you'd prefer to eat, you can still shake that little booty on your exerciser!

I expect a report tomorrow! Give me 15 minutes, girl! And hydrate! That helps!

      Splandrea and Cleo ,

Thanks for clearing that up for me . We have something similar over here .
Cleo sorry for all the questions but ur form of exercise sounds appealing to me.
Do you just walk or do a combination of walking and running ?

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

Ebony-- I walk on a treadmill on an incline of 6. If your treadmill has various inclines, I highly recommend them! Just walking at only 3.2 miles per hour at a level of 6 for 4 miles burns almost twice as many calories as walking 4 mph on a flat surface! It is a harder workout, but building up slowly is the way to go!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

Ebony, I see you're in the UK. I don't know if you have something similar to our Comcast "On Demand" here. Basically it's a feature of digital cable where you just go to a menu and select a show to play. Most of the shows are free. Anyway, there is a whole section of fitness shows, ranging from 8 minutes to 40 minutes. I've done belly dancing, hip hop, kickboxing, regular ol' aerobics, and I even did lesson 1 of Erotic Dancing (note: it was neither erotic NOR dancing, at least not the way I was doing it!)

This morning, it was raining too hard to go out, and I didn't really want to do a routine from any of those programs, so I danced in my living room to music videos (also from the On Demand thingy). I put on the Best of Britney Spears and danced to 2.5 of her videos before I had to turn it off because she annoys the crap outta me. But hey, the motivation to wear a shear bodysuit kept me going for like 12 minutes!

Effie-- *lol* on Brittany Spears annoying the crap out of you. That is awesome you got moving, though. I think you are doing so great! How's your starchy veggie rung working? What are you introducing first?

I am feeling sooooooooooooo much better today!!! Day three back on induction and I woke up feeling thinner. I have no clue what feeling thinner is, but I just was. I feel really good! The first two days are the hardest for me in induction, and now that I'm past the cravings and the 'flu', I can work towards getting therough the whole two weeks again. Because of flu I didn't exercise last night and I am low on calories (who can eat when you have induction flu uck?), but I look forward to eating a little bit more today!

Sorry for the ramble! Good morning, beauties!!!

I'm so glad so many of you have come back, and I'm so glad that even though some of us fell offf the wagon or haven't lost weight we're still hanging in!

wannabe-- well, I can attest that your support with me yesterday and this morning (and anyday!) are things I take to heart and really appreciate. You are a great motivator, and that you took the time to give me comfort when you're dealing with your own thing is really amazingly appreciated!

I know that you are a major reason I upped my incline on my treadmill, too!

Cruisergal.....you listen to the doctor and hold off on that exercise or you will be doing yourself some serious damage. Can you find something else like stationary bike where you can support your arm? At least you will be getting a lower body workout. Congrats on making through the holidays. What a feeling you must have had to hear those words come out of DH mouth!

Cleo....good idea on how to get that exercise in! Glad you are feeling better.

Gabs....WEIGH to go!! You are doing great! Glad to hear you made it through the hurricane okay and congrats on the new place!

Ebony....You can do it!!! Start small if you have too but just start!

Andrea...looking forward to the updated pictures!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 9-15th

I am behind, the computer has been down most of the week, and life got uber crazy for a while.

Well, I had hopped up to 261 again fir a couple days through TOM, and after being off the wagon for three days, I am down to 259. The last three days have been hectic. I got my job in AZ back, I drove down for the Polygraph, fingerprints and urine test yesterday, adn dropped the kids off with their dad, and as soon as the drug tests come in, we will be heading back. Until then, no paycheck, so I have to eat whatever is here. It is going to be hard. Stressed out, waiting on a check that may or may not come... if it doesnt, we are moving with no money, no place, etc etc, until a check comes... SO it has been a lot of stress eating, a lot of sabotage (seeing my ex when I dropped off the kids yesterday)...blah blah blah.

I dont know why I am down in weight, maybe it is all the activity and drinking water. Then again, it may be that the sum total of food yesterday as a cheeseburger, a small shake, coffee and a diet soda... Was driving from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm.

So the long and short of it, is, back on the wagon, back on exercise track... I need to just shut up and do it.

My birthday is next week, and I am breaking family tradition by making my own dinner. I figure, it is the one day of the year where I should be able to sit down to a meal where I can eat everything, right? I am making asian roast, mashed squash, salad, and am searching for a recipe for chocolate cake. My family is peeved, but its my day!

They can go out for "dinner" afterward. LOL.

Wow, womanpraised! Good luck on the job interview! I agree that your level of busybusy and stress has kept you burning those calories and keeping you on track. That and you may have been within very acceptable carb limits for you while not eating exactly what you should be. I am so excited about you making your own birthday dinner! I think it's a good thing! Will you still let the kids bake you a cake (that they can eat)? When is your birthday? We need to have a partay!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you move towards a new job. You just do what you can! We're here for you no matter what.

Ebony-- you'll be great! Just do a little at a time and it all eventually adds up!

Oh yah, roasted chickpeas! They're delicious. I buy the canned chickpeas (that are in water), drain the water, season with some olive oil and any spices of my choice (I use some Emeril's original seasoning, usually), and than put them in the oven at 500 until they're roasted the way I like them. They're a great crunchy snack, and perfect when I'm on the go.
