I am so excited to be a part of all you losers. Who knew being a loser could rock so much? I do have a question though...............how in the world do you buy clothes? Things I bought a few weeks ago that were snug are loose on me today. I have to have nice clothes for work and church and going out with friends, etc. I only have a brown pair of pants and a black pair of pants and am trying to mix the tops and jackets up for different looking outfits. I am SO happy to report that this girl right here can wear size 14 pants. I can't believe I am able to say that. I am trying to buy things snug so that as I lose I can wear it for awhile.

JSJ hang in there! You will get in control. Sometimes it is just harder than others.

Splandrea.......TOM is such a pain in more ways than one. When he leaves you will start losing again.

Jamie....I love you too girl! I would not be doing nearly as well right now without your encouragement. You are the absolute BEST!! Way to go on being strong against the pizza monster. I hate it when my hubby is out of town too. Why does food comfort so much?

Elsie...thank you again for keeping our list updated.

I was just thinking this today. I went shopping for some new pants. I can finally fit into 16's, so I could actually shop in the normal section instead of the plus section. yay! But, I refused to spend money on something that I might only wear for a month or two. I'd rather just keep wearing the same 2 pair of pants and then buy something new once the stuff I already own gets too big. I did buy some sweaters though... those can last a long longer through the weight decades. Maybe with the new tops, no one will notice that yes, these are the same Dockers Khakis that I've worn 4 days in a row.

I guess I just knew you were going to do it, so it didnt really register. I'll stick with that. Is Bug driving up to the abbey this weekend then?

              CONGRATULATIONS!
Huzzah? That's a first. Thanks woman. I think Bug is going to wait until Thanksgiving because the bet was a candle for reaching onederland before Thanksgiving and another for every 5 lbs. She might need a truck.

                    Goooooooood morning, beauties!

                    Confession time:

I said I would exercise everyday for the next 7 days, but I took the last 2 off due to illness. I hope you won't think I'm a collossal flop (well, my breasts are, but that's another thread). I'm better now, I can see again, no one is vomiting or has diarrhea, so woohoo!

shashee-- Do I have to sit you in the corner? Stop hitting people, unleds it's with the whooshie fairy wand! *l*

Andrea! I am joining you in the bloaty penalty box. I don't expect any changes for at least a week now! *sits next to Andrea*

OMG twg!!! What an awesome problem you're having! I'm happy-dancing for you! I just buy from thrift stores, to be honest. As you are shrinking more will fit you, and when you're paying a fraction of the cost, economically it just makes sense to not spend so much on things you know you're just going to have to give away anyway. Keep having that problem, girl! *l* I love you, too, also! *l*

Effie-- yay on shopping the normal section! 16! Woohoo! No worries on the veggies. Get them in today.

Wannabe-- you are such an inspiration! Thanks for all you do and for being such a spirited friend!

Woman_Praised-- Hi! How are you doing, girl? You're in my prayers! Are we going to Alaska?

Slowly but surely, I am! This week I'm going to venture into the fruits rung - though that makes me rather nervous! [The fruits rung, that is, not the climbing higher]. I think I may start with some apples. But I am fairly worried about the effect it will have on my blood sugar.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is the starchy veggies rung. POPCORN, HERE I COME!

That is incredible that you are so close!!! I am so inspired by you and your success. I know now that had I stuck with it, I'd be close to the finish line also. It's one thing to try to understand, but to see someone who started when you did, at a similiar weight, and they are almost done and you're sitting here still fat, it's DEFINATELY opened my eyes.

Thanks for being such an inspiration.

If I was that close to goal, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I would probably go crazy. I have never stuck with something b/c I wanted to for me, so I'd be ozzzing pride outta my ears. You stuck with this, no one else and you deserve to be happy.
Aww, jsj! I know that you will make it! This journey is going to be so unique for each and every one of us, and each of us will take a different path to get to the same place. I know that you will find your path, and blaze your way to goal! I'm totally confident. You are already a success, and I don't see that changing!

As for being scared, have you ever weighed this much, well, this little before? My opinion is you could be fearful of going back to where you struggled so hard to get away from.
I think the last time I weighed this little I was starting out highschool - probably in the 10th or 11th grade - so that's what? 14 / 15 / 16 years old? Whenever it was, I certainly don't remember it.

I think part of my fear has to do with figuring out how to maintain my weight. Gaining weight, obviously, is easy. Losing weight has also become second nature now - I know what I have to do, and how, to lose it. But maintaining weight? There's something I've never done before - I have no idea how to do that. And I guess I'm afraid that I won't figure it out properly, and gain it back, and be stuck on this weight loss/gain yo-yo again. I really don't want to have to do this again, you know? So I guess I'm afraid I'm going to mess up maintenance some how and have to do this again.

Okay...I have to stick up for Shashee here. If she had not whacked me with that celery I would not have gone and eaten some cucumber. Since I dish out tough love I better be prepared to take it...so while it hurt because celery is hard...it didn't leave a bruise or anything...it was more of a love whack...LOL!

Rybread...there is a thread in maintenance called
Question about weight gain on maintenance ( 1 2 )
                        sadie147
                        and
Why do people give Atkins up after experiencing success? ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page ) Betty

Something there may give you some help. If you continue to read the book and follow it as it is laid out you will do fine. I am starting to believe that maintaining is almost harder than losing it as at least when we are losing we get that feel of victory everytime we lose and maintaining is like being on a permanent stall and I think the rush will not be the same to step on the scale and go YIPPEE I still weigh the same...you know? So it does require a different mind set. You stuck to plan during a 7 week stall though...so I know you can stick to this WOE to maintain!!!

This morning Tom arrived, and I'm still the same weight wise! Hopefully that means I lost some, cause I'm always up at this time of the month. Slow going here, as I still have not been able to exercise due to shoulder injury, but it is getting better, and I have only 2 more days of medication, and then by Monday I should be able to start again on the treadmill and recumbent bike. There is a party for MIL's birthday this weekend, so I offered to make a second dessert my now famous atkins cheesecake that everybody loves. We also have another dinner Sunday that I am bringing for as well. So I think I'm covered for a challenging weekend.
