Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 30-Nov.6

So how did everyone do with Halloween last night?

Me, I did pretty well. I didn't think the chocolate we were giving out would phase me, but when I surprisingly found myself pondering the taste of chocolate, I walked myself straight to the kitchen and made a cream cheese + egg + cocoa powder + vanilla extract + splenda concoction that totally hit the spot.

    How about you guys?

I did fine. It was a little hard sorting through it and handling those little chocolate bars. Of course the test is not over until the candy is all gone. Luckily the kids are not really into it and get tired as they are usually in bed at 7:30 even though they are 7 and 9 so we didn't go to a lot of places and so they isn't a lot to deal with compared to when I was a kid. I am hoping most of it is gone by the time the weekend is over.

Hey folks.. I just wanted to start off by saying..

LOTS2LOSE... YOUR AVATAR PICTURE DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO SHOW HOW GORGEOUS YOU ARE. oh MY!

I will have computer access sporadically. I am staying with my sis for a week, and then we are moving, and I dont think I will have computer hookups in AZ for a while. SO.

That said, I also dont have a current weight. And with the craziness of what is going on here (staying at her house with her famiily and moving, eating at Mom adn Dad's , brothers wedding preps... ) I am unable to stay on plan very well. I am trying, but not buying my own groceries, so am kind of at the mercy of what is being done around me.

We shall see. I am making the best of what is offered. Last night, mom made sloppy joes, and I at the meat and cheese. I am sure the sauce was uber carby.. but I avoided the buns. Based on my jeans, I am sure I would be posting a gain. I think, as a personal thing, I wont weigh in until Thanksgiving.

That is all that is new and exciting in my world. My baby brother is getting married, and my neice (who is 12 almost 13), got hit on by a SENIOR in High School at the mall last weekend. SHe looks about 20. My best friends neice, who was 5 when I met her, turned 18 last week. I feel about a million years old.

        Cyber-hugs...

Everybody's a wiseapple. Wanna, I told my husband what you said on the other thread and he started laughing! Good one!

rybread-- I did really well on Halloween. I had PMS so I so majorly wanted to cave and didn't! I am glad I didn't but it was so tough I almost broke down crying. Way to go on finding something to hit the spot!

Elsie-- I'm encouraging my kids to eat as much candy as they want to get it out of the house! I know it's horrid. Next year I'm going to try to think of something else we can do than trick or treat.

lots2lose-- you look HAWT woman! OMG! When I saw your new picture I did such a doubletake! You look so radiant and beautiful!

{{{woman}}} You have no idea how much I admire you. You have so much strength. Forget the scale to heck! Just hang in there and do what you can, and we'll be decorating your new apartment in no time at all. I think you are vivacious, vavoomy and valuable as a friend. I love you, girl.

{{{Gabs}}} WOOHOO! Way to go, hot little mama! I have 14 pounds to go by NYE too! We'll do it, girl!

I was so proud telling my hubby about all of you guys and how much you've all lost, and he's so excited, too! You guys influence people even off of the board!!!

                        Way to go Gabs!!!

                        Cleo...you weight losing machine you!!!

I don't think it is horrid to let the kids go at it with the candy....of course that may be because that is what I do. I find it better this way. The rules here are a healthy breakfast. A healthy school lunch with one treat...one treat afterschool and they finish what was in their lunches if they are hungry...if they ate all their lunch then they can have a banana or a mandarin orange. A healthy supper and then they can pig out on their candy. I have done this since the beginning. This way the candy gets eaten and there is no whining for months for a piece of candy. I think it is better for their teeth to eat it up quickly verus drawn out for months and them getting the sugar everyday.
I think also when the kids get older and really get into the halloween thing that I will put a limit of the amount of candy collected. I remember going out as a kid and collecting 2-3 bag fulls of candy. There is no need for that. Anyway...that is my take on it.

                        Be a great day everyone!!!

Hi peoples. I have been hovering around 219 forever and a day now and I am starting to get sick of it. I have a new mini goal of losing 10 pounds by Thanksgiving. I am going to push it and give it all I have got to get that scale down to 209 in the next 3 weeks!

                            Congrats Cleo! I am amazed.

Everyone amazes me with what they have accomplished. I hope we all reach our mid-year resolution goals!

{{{Andrea}}} We totally will hit those goals! You know, something I started taking was CLA. I can't say that it is really what helped me lose the weight, but it supposed to be a metabolizer of fat? I bought mine at a discount department store (Target).

You will SO lose the weight!

Hi everyone! I have not had much time to participate this week. I am trying to do too much right now and I am exhausted. I am 203.5 this week. I have got to slow down and get myself organized. I will try to check back when I can devote some time to catching up with what is going on with everyone. I just wanted to drop by and say hi and that I am thinking of you all. I am heading to bed early tonight. I am truly exhausted. Hope everyone is doing great!
