Re: ~~~Winter Onederland Challenge~~~
Up @ 4am and unable to go back to sleep. Made myself an omelette, and checked out new posts. After spending about an hour online yesterday morning reading through all of the messages in Onederland... I was motivated to go to the gym.
I've upped my workout this week, 2 miles on the elliptical trainer (25-35min depending on speed) plus my strength training. I break the cardio into two 8-15 minute sessions - one before strength training, and one after. The personal trainer guy said that would get my heart rate up while I lift weights, and optimize the fatburning afterwards. I am getting way stronger in my chest & arms I noticed I had to up the lbs on a couple of machines yesterday - yeehaw!
See, though I didn't start the diet till Nov.3, I started going to the gym a month ago thinking I could just excercise and the weight would magically fall off. At the end of October, with my high-carb diet, I had gained 3lbs. No trick or treaters, so I spent the next two days killing a bag of Kit Kats + Reese's p'nut butter cups. The next day I looked up "Atkins" on google and found this site. Bought the book that afternoon, and started the next morning.
I didn't exactly know what "Onederland" meant, but now I am guessing it means getting below 200?? I never thought of it that way, but 200 has always been this evil/magic # for me. I'll never forget mom putting me on the scale in 7th grade and seeing 218 and just losing her mind.....
