  • Mid-Year Resolution Thread, Nov. 13-19+

Please keep this going! I know you can do this. Do it for yourselves and please do this for each other, as well.

We are a family here, and families keep going, even when times are tough.

Even if you fell off the wagon, still be here for your sisters. PM someone who hasn't been around for awhile. You guys think I was in charge of this challenge, but it has been you in charge, all along. All along.

Remember this. You abdicated some of the responsibility to me. It may never have hit you that in the end, you were all the ones in control.

Use that control. Make it to New Year's! You will do this if you believe in yourselves as much as I believe in each and every one of you.

    You guys are the best!

Zarabelle...congrats on the pound down!! I LOVE your attitude! Even if you don't make the goal...that is not what this is really about....it is about setting a goal and doing your best to get there and how far you have come to get where you are...which is a heck of a lot further than if you hadn't set a goal at all. And if you don't make that goal by NYE it is still a goal that can be reached with a bit more work, determination and time! You go girl!

Hi Everyone! I'm trying my best to make it back into the land of the healthy! Tonight I'm actually going to attempt exercise for the first time in almost a week - something nice and slow though, because I am not yet 100%. Probably a leisurely walk on the treadmill.

My mother is starting Atkins this week. I helped her out yesterday by helping her cook a bunch of foods for the week to get her set up. We made cheeseburger pie, bacon cheeseburger pie, stuffed peppers, ham breakfast muffins, breakfast meatballs, & we cut up 1oz portions of cheese. She's all set up with a whole bunch of recipes, and armed with a menu for the week. I really want her to see how great Atkins can be, so I'll do whatever I can to help her.

Rybread..glad you feeling even better today! Can you come and cook for me?? I love having stuff in the freezer ready to eat!! It makes it so much easier...especially if you get busy. Way to go on helping your Mom. I have had half of those recipes and really like the stuffed peppers one! I should make that again.

You are so close to your goal now...I am so excited for you!!!

I was looking at your fitday...can I have the recipe for Vanilla Flax Muffins?

Psst....I'm at 204 today, and haven't visited 203 in a long time....Thanks for the thought though. It gives me great joy knowing I'm ounces away from my mini-goal. Hey, I'm being optomistic.

Hey Elsie! I would be totally happy cooking all day long, to be honest! I love love love cooking/baking.

My mom's biggest fear was that it would be too hard, so all the cooking was an attempt to make it as easy as possible for her. You're right - its so much easier to just grab something and nuke it, and its all the better if its Atkins friendly foods!

Here is the Vanilla Flax Muffins recipe - I actually found it on these boards!

                  Vanilla Flax Muffins
                  12 servings

                  3 eggs
                  1 1/2 sticks butter melted
1 c protein powder (i used whey protein isolate - vanilla)
                  3/4 c splenda
                  1 1/2 tsp baking powder
                  3/8 tsp salt
                  1/2 c water
1/2 c flavoured syrup (i used davinci - vanilla flavour, but you can use whatever flavour you want!)
                  1 c flax seed meal

Pre-heat oven to 350. Beat eggs and add melted butter. Continue to beat. Add (one by one) protein powder, splenda, baking powder, and salt. Beat well. Stir in syrup, water and flax seeds. Put in greased muffin tin and bake 25 minutes. Using the protein powder I have, these come out to 3.2 net carbs a muffin.

Easy peasy. Yesterday I also made this, which turned out really well, too! I worked them out to be 4 net carbs a slice, using my protein powder.

                    Greetings folks!

In a twist and change, I am back at my folk's house (they missed the free housekeeping, apparently), so I have a bit more control over what I eat, fix and do.. .not much, but some now.

Kids started new school, and I am off to apply for jobs.

                    Things are looking good.

                    Exercise 60 minutes 5x week
                    Get in the right veggies.

Still no weight loss this week, but my clothes are definately starting to get baggy again! Mmmmm, must be time for another shopping trip soon! I'm really into the Si6 program now, and can feel my thighs starting to shrink. Concentrating more on my inch losses rather than scale losses!

Come on LisaM...I know you can do this!!

Woman...glad you are now in an enviroment where you have a bit more control. How are the plans for school going?

Rybread....Thanks for the recipe!! Well it certainly looks like you made your Mom's first week as easy as you can on her. I am not as into cooking...so when I make something I tend to eat that until it is gone. This week is chili...LOL! I am going to have to get me some unflavored powder to try these out! Thanks!

It's Slim in 6 weeks, DVD, see the exercise challenge thread, Brook has organized a friendly competition starting this week, to run for the next 6 weeks. The workouts are gruesome, and the sweat just pours off, and your body aches, but what a great feeling after!!!
