  • Mid-Year Resolution, December 18-25

Okay Everyone....I do not know where Cleo is but do want this Challenge to keep going. Would be a shame to have it die out a mere two weeks before it is due! So I have started this new thread. Now I can't fill Cleo's shoes so I will not even try. I will keep this short as I know we are all busy.

Are you worried about getting through the holiday season? Do you have a plan you can share with us? Any tips on how to be successful during this time?? What can this list do to support you right now?? What can you do to support this list right now??

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

      Re: Mid-Year Resolution, December 18-25

I can tell all of you a lie and say I've been doing GREAT, but I can't do that. I have not been eating right all season long and I feel awful. I keep saying tomorrow is a new day and I can do it! I know I can do it - I am almost there.

I need some encouragement from you all on how to get back up and ride the horse to my goal. I'm currently a size 14 still some 16's but REALLY REALLY want to be a 12. I know what discouraged me this time .... my abdominal section (lower belly) just won't leave. It is not hanging so much and my mom says that is progress and I probably feel that way b/c it is not hanging and is actually toning up, but right now it is a transition.

      Help me Please!!

(((New))) You can do this! Look how much you have improved already. It will come off the tummy with patience and persistence. Think of how awful you feel not eating on plan and how much better you feel when you are! End this year healthier and making better choices than when this year started and that will make you a winner! Congrats on being in size 14's!! I can hardly wait for that day for me! You know you are worth this. Give yourself the best Christmas present ever by following the plan!

How do you get back on the horse? It is tough. One day at a time...one meal at a time if you have too. Drink your water and if you have been doing and/or trying for a while and are getting slack then think about getting back into using fitday and planning out your meals. Then you know exactly where you stand. I know you are worth it and you can do this!!!!

          Re: Mid-Year Resolution, December 18-25

For some reason I hadn't really given Christmas much thought...didn't think it would be a problem to handle dinner...after all I can eat the turkey...salad...vegies. But I didn't think about the other meals for some reason. We will be going overnight to Inlaws. So when we phoned to see if we could bring something MIL asked us to pick up texas toast for french toast in the morning. Well I know that is out...so it means I am going to have to ask if I can make something specific...also with lunch as that will probably be soup and sandwiches. I think I need to plan ahead (LOL...taking my own advice here) and take some things that I can eat. I am pretty sure that I can resist the baking. And she doesn't really put a lot out anyway...except for some candy and nut dishes. Then on Boxing day we go to my brother's and my whole family gathers there..so more snacks, baking, another turkey dinner, etc there. This is why I said if I can make it through without gaining I will be so happy!!!

I had given some thought to bringing some Atkins friendly baking but thought that it may give me permission to eat it and the calories would add up really fast in a situation like that. So may be better to park myself by the vegies and dip if I get the urge to munch.

                Thanks Elsie.

I am back to business starting today. I got up and boiled 2 eggs and have meatloaf and broccoli and cheese for lunch. I plan to have a salad w/ chicken this eveing - I will use Mayo instead of Ranch. ~ NO CHEESE

Congrats Elsie! You're doing great! I weigh-in tomorrow morning, so we'll see how I do. I hope to lose the last 3 pounds to get to goal. If not, it's not going to happen until Year End, still within the goal! I'm so happy though, that I've gotten this far. Almost thirty five pounds in 3 months. I don't know why I didn't start sooner. It feels great!
