    You guys are all doing great! I, on the other hand, have not. No excuses, just backsliding. BUT!!! Tomorrow starts boot camp and there will be NO backsliding. My menus are planned, exercise is going to be funky but I'll do my very best, lots of water, oh my gosh.............

      Just walked for an hour and twenty minutes on the treadmill (total of 4.5 miles at 3.5 mph)... feel like dying now.. must sleep...

      The scale is fluctuating like crazy even though I've been doing great (I think so anyway, I "feel" skinnier each day and more tone).. I think its' the whole water retention after big workout session phenomonen... it's annoying though...

      Glad to hear your first day went well, rikki!! And that low-carb icecream is so dangerous.. I can eat the whole tub in one sitting and think "well it's low-carb it's' legal". yeah right a whole tub is really legal, mary, lol... I have to tell my fiance not to buy it, I can't control myself around "low carb" stuff.

      Yankee - let us know how your weigh in went, I hope your pre-tom cravings have gone away, I know they are killer!!!

      MsChrissy - I'm glad you are enjoying the weather. It has been too cold for my taste around here. In the 40's and 50's.. This isn't what I moved to california for darnit, I want that sunshine!!! Though I suppose I should be thankful it's not snowing.. but dang it feels cold!

      Well tomorrow it's back to work for me (no MLK vacation for a lil' ol' temp like me..) . better go make my lunch now before I forget. Hope everyone has a good night!

        Man, the scale has not budged in over a week and I've been working so hard and doing everything right, this is sooooooooo frustrating!! I keep telling myself it's just water retention, but that doesn't make me feel better!!

        This morning I made an egg omelet with some ham that my fiance bought and diced up. I assumed he read the nutrition label so I ate it.. then I looked at the label and noticed it was cooked with brown sugar and had a bunch of carbs in it, UGH!! I was thinking I was doing good by eating the ham and not the cheese.. Anyway I wouldn't be that upset about it but I'm not even losing anything as it is and am just really frustrated today. Grrr!

        Hope everyone else is having a better start to their morning then I am!

          Ohhhhh I so can relate Mary. I have been eating on plan, plenty of water......and I have exercised every single day except 2 since I started atkins. My exercise has been anywhere from 30 mintes to 2 hours......mostly 1 hour. The last week its been 1 1/2 to 2 hours every day....uggggggggg

            Ohhhh that makes me feel sooo much better seeing your numbers, they are almost identical to mine!!

            Here are mine for the last 10 or so days:

            January 8th and on:

            I got to 186, and was working my buns off exercising and eating small portions (between 1,050-1,200 calories each day), not eating a lot of cheese, and then the scale starts going up.. so i tell myself it's water retention... but then 4 days in a row is a long time to hold onto water, and I'm nowhere near TOM.. the weird thing is I've been feeling skinnier but it's not showing up on the scale..

            I wouldn't be stressing about it if I UNDERSTOOD what was going on, ya know?? I am just really wanting to get to 180. You have no idea how much I want to get to 180, it is like the scale is tormenting me on purpose, arggh!!

            i think it is likely to go up tomorrow too. Ive been stressing about it and working so hard to lose weight that today I didn't cheat but didnt' work nearly as hard, and I'm not going to exercise. Iv'e been exercising for at least an hour every day and so today I decided not to exercise. We'll see what the scale says. I know I shouldn't obsess, but that's the only way I seem to lose weight - is if I obsess about it, seriously!!! I can never just take a laid back approach to weight loss - otherwise it doesn't come off.

            Well It did make me feel b etter to see someone else going through the same thing - I guess I'm not doing as badly as I thought. Hopefully we'll both break into the lower 180's soon enough..

              TAPE MEASURE

              I know its hard to not look at the scale, btu honestly, if I was super concerned about it I probably would hav efallen off the wagon months ago. I have only lost like 10lbs in teh last 3 and a half months.. but the inches are still falling off... Keep it up and put your darn scales away already!!!!!lol

                I'm measuring myself but I have a hard time with the tape measure - I don't know why but the tape measurements fluctuate more then my scale lol!

                I'm feeling better today. I was just stressed out about a lot at once. Not the least of which was my mother was in surgery yesterday, it was an elective routine thing and I knew she'd be okay, but I was sstill worried and it's hard to be 2,000 miles away at times like that.. but she goes home today and everything went fine so a lot of stress that was building up has gone away. I didn't even realize how worried I was until the surgery was over and I heard she was fine.. I'm used to her being the one to worry about us, not us worrying about her lol.

                Anyway so to **** with the scale, I'm still looking and feeling better each day and I'm going to stop trying to starve myself to get the scale to move, it will move when it feels like it I suppose. It was down 0.2 pounds today, not exactly a whooshie LOL, but better then going up again.

                Okay - today I am going to stay away from ALL cheeses, ALL "sugar-free" products (like Jello) and eat as close to "natural" foods as I possibly can (with the exception of mayonaiise). Gonna see if that works. Okay, fare-well cheese.. you will be missed...

                  Mary- Glad to hear your mom is ok!

                  LOL.......I'm with you on the tape measure this that doesnt seem to be moving as fast either. I measure myself every 2 weeks. I know people say not to weigh yourself daily........but for me there is nothing more rewarding and motivating then the joy of waking up and going right to the scale (after i pee of course). I understand it will go up and down and truthfully I'm ok with it. hehehehe about the cheese.......I say that every day Mary although I have gotten it done to about 2oz a day. I haven't got to the sf jello I'm on extended induction.......I don't dare I have a feeling I will LOVE it.

                  Going down the forum I keep dropping in on the foods section where the last post is Party Cakes...........i look at the picture and drool........I am seriously thinking of posting something in there so that word "Party cakes" will be off the top post and I wont visit that post several times a day to drool and torture myself. hehehehe

                  I'm eating on plan and TOM is coming so expecting to hold water for abit.......still exercising although I'm doing the gazelle and treadmill.......ummmm dont think that does much for the tummy. I did do 30 pathetic situps and 20 even more pathetic push-ups today (4 guys ones and rest girly ones on my knees).........uggggggg how do people do that stuff so long, those just about killed me.

                    I've gone 3 and a half days without any cheese now, I'm really surprised!! I just told myself to start thinking of cheese as if it were any other sugary food or something. Honestly though, I don't think it's making a difference in my weight loss, but I am determined to stick it out through the week and see what happens.

                    I've also been waking up early to exercise BEFORE work instead of right before bedtime thinking that would make a difference.

                    And I dropped my caloric intake about 200 calories less then before.

                    STILL NOTHING!!! It moved down a little to 185.6 yesterday, then back up to 185.75 today. I don't get it and I don't understand it.

                    On the other hand, I think I've been looking skinnier, and I guess that's the more important thing .. so I will just have to be patient with the scale and hope it decides to bless me with a big big whooshie one of these days

                    Hope everyone has a good weekend and is feeling great about themselves

                      Wooo hooo Mary 3 days without cheese is fab......I have a hard time staying away completely but sticking to between 1 or 2 oz a day the most. My scale hasn't moved in 4 days 185.2 I am happy though cause my TOM should of started on monday hasnt yet....so glad to see I'm not creeping up on scale.

                      Keep up the great job......it will pay off!

                            You look GREAT, rikki!!! Love the outfit!!!!!! Though I find if I'm not 100% comfortable in an outfit it's besst if I don't wear it because it will be all I think about the whole time I'm out, so only wear it if you feel comfortable in it. but you look great in it!!!!

                              thanks! I am gonna wear it! We are goingv to the melting pot tonight I can't wait!!!!! I haven't cheated in so long but for a month now I have been ok with saying i am goign to eat what I want but not over indulge... for all of you who think thats stupid and I am not making this my wol if I do it for this one meal I have been looking forward to for so long, yada, yada, yada.... I understand some of you feel that way and its fine if you do-you don't have to tell me about it I am not planning on eating everything I can get my hands on but if I want that square inch of cheesecake dipped in teh baileys chocolate, by golly I am having it tongiht! (its a fondue restaraunt- everything is small and I will eat mostly meat, but I am having that square inch of cheesecake if nothing else!!! lol--- talk to you soon! I hope yall are doing great!

                                Rikki - I TOTALLY know what you're talking about!!! I don't like to mention it because I always feel like someone is going to yell at me for it.. but one of the BIGGEST reasons I've been able to not cheat for 9 months straight is because I plan on totally and completely going absolutely CRAZY during my wedding and honeymoon and eating everything I ever wanted!!!! Whenever I'm tempted by something in the NOW I think "I'll have that when I'm in Disney!!" I even plan out where and what I'm going to eat.. I have a feeling I won't really eat that much when I get there.. but by telling myself that I can, it helps me get through each day!!
