  • Esther's coundown to 40 challenge

    Ok, I've lost over 100 lbs and I'm in onderland. I've commandeered a little room of my own just off the kitchen and turned it into a home gym, complete with multigym, eliptical trainer, swiss ball and weights. I go for 2 hour walks 3 times a week. I run twice a week. I've got my bike all set up waiting outside my front door for going over to the farm. I've worn out one set of running shoes and two tracksuit bottoms. I've nearly matched my DH's weight (3lb to go...). I have 39lb left to go before I reach goal. And my 40th birthday is on August 18th.

    The question is, how close can I get to being fit, healthy and at goal by my 40th birthday?

    I'm going to post here every weekend and let you all know how I'm getting on!!

      3 lb more gone - yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

      I've just completed the initial six week body conditioning program given in 'Sculpting her Body Perfect' and have been *very* pleased with the results so far. It involves 3 complete body workouts three times a week, using different exercises each time, to build up a good overall base of muscle. Each main muscle group has one exercise each workout, with 3 sets of 15 reps.

      I also reached another landmark - I'm now the same weight as my DH! Or, at least, I'm the same weight as he was two weeks ago... When he realised I was catching him up, he decided to start skipping the pizzas and beers and he's gone and lost 5lbs. So, it's turning into a race now! Will my butt shrink faster than his belly?
