WOW!!! More happy positive posts! You guys are rockin'!!!

Keep your finger crossed for me tonight, because I'm going to a party where everyone will be eating and drinking it up. Some of the appetizers are ok, but I'm dying for a glass of wine for some reason! I'm getting the ole' just one won't kill me thoughts, but I know if I have one, and I'm still there, it will turn into two, and then three... so, hopefully, I'll behave myself. I don't want to have to come here tomorrow, when I'm so close to two weeks, hanging my head in shame!

I know what you mean about the wine, it's my downfall. One glass leads to two. Then it's the third one that ruins me, because by then I've decided one little cheat won't hurt. It is never just one little cheat though. It's a binge that lasts for days! So just remember you're passing up that wine for a very good reason...YOU! After all, you don't want to blow all the hard work you've done. Good luck, you can do it!!!

Good luck, Marion... you can do it... be strong!!

I'm dreading a challenge next week. We're having a birthday thing at work for three people's July birthdays, one being mine. I think they are planning on having cake only at the little party. *groans* Cake doesn't even tempt me now, I really don't WANT any. But I know they'll be pushing it with the "come on, one little piece isn't going to kill you". I'll have my own legal snacks with me but it's going to be tough to gracefully get out of eating cake that they bought specifically for the three of us. And they KNOW I'm on Atkins. Guess I can try the "I'm not hungry right now" thing. I think I'm going to take a mock danish with me, that will satisfy my sweet tooth just fine!

You just have to stand firm over the cake. Just keep the picture in mind of where you want to be and what that cake will do to that picture. If you eat it, you know the cravings will start and who knows if you will get control of it again, the same goes for the wine, it stinks, it isn't fair, but unfortunately it is just not an option Marion, it is just not worth undoing two weeks. If it is too hard, than don't go. Right now, I would not hesitate to avoid a gathering if I felt it had even a chance of messing with my progress. Nothing is more important to me than being healthy for myself and my family. I know you can do it, you just have to make the decision and stick with it. If you don't , that will make it easier for you to cheat the next time, I am the expert on that. This is literally my , at least 30th time restarting and if there is an excuse, I have used it. If there was a mistake to make, I made it. I am not letting myself do that this time. I plan what I eat tomorrow tonight and do not sway from that. Period. I am not saying that is what everyone should do, but it works for me. Takes all the thought about food out of it. when it is time to eat, I know what I have to prepare and just do it. If I need a snack it is already decided I can have some cheddar cheese, but some days I just do not even want it. I am also allowing myself a half a dill pickle but have not had one in days. I also do not try to make things that imitate regular foods, I decided that if I make this way of eating , just what it is, a new way of eating and leave the other way behind, low carb desserts for special occasions of course, than it draws a line in the sand and I do not get confused or tempted because I am eating low carb stuff like the real stuff. KISS, I am a big believe in that now.
Everyone has to make thier own journey, it is definately not a one size fits all kind of thing. This is what works for me. I am very happy on it and feel great.
I hope to hear good news about the party, I know you can do it, just stick to your plan and eat before you go, if you are full, you will not want to snack there at all !!!! Also sugar free mint gum , if you allow it, once you brush your teeth or get the mint of that gum in your mouth, nothing will taste good. I am not a gum chewer but I have actually gone into the bathroom and brushed my teeth when I wanted to eat something I shouldn't and it works !!! CAn you fit a toothbrush in your purse, lol !!!!?

Both of you are strong and can avoid the temptation. Nothing feels better to me than turning down a formerly desired carbage item and after the temptation has been removed I smile at myself because I know

                  a) I didn't blow it which would have resulted in 3 to 5 days of binging

                  b) Those 3 to 5 days of binging would remove 3 previous weeks of being good as gold...not worth it

So yeah...do a flippin happy dance when those temptations are gone and you both WIN!!!!!!! I'll be here with everyone else waiting to pat you on the backs...(which are much skinnier these days by the way Huh you two? see those skinny a$$ backs?) heh heh

I agree! A slip-up can result in a few days binging. It's so not worth it to un-do all the good. I'm glad I read that, because I know this weekend (starting tomorrow) will be tough.
I had another great day. The scale is dropping. I wore something today that even looked good on me!

The problem with a cheat is, even if you only cheat for that day or that meal, and go right back on, if you have a sensitivity to the food or just because the carb count is too high it can take days to get back on track wieght loss wise. It is just not worth it in the end, nothing tastes that good !!!

But I did get my exercise video in, my dishes done, and my laundry caught up. It was a very productive stomach ache! Thank you all for coming in and encouraging me to do the right thing! You're all aces in my book!!!! So Cristy....the dice are in your corner now. You gotta pass that cake by like it were the final exams before graduation! You can do it!!!

Another quick visit before work, but i do like to pop in and see that you are all still cheatfree(it kinda gives me the boost i need for the day to stay on track too).

Sorry to hear you had a tummy upset marion and couldnt go to the party, but it did you a favour right!!!Im dreading any upcoming event with booze involved right now...an ice cold beer on a hot day would definetly be hard for me to say no to.

Cristy...how did it go??? i hope you managed to stay well away from the cake.

Christine....look at you!!!,i can really see the difference in your face the way you have set those pics out alongside eachother....i can only see one chin now and your whole face looks a lot slimmer.

ooops..look at the time...better get moving and i'll catch up with you all later
Hope everyone has a good cheatfree day ahead

In time you will be able to go anywhere and not have things bother you, but while you are still fragile it will be a bit harder, some days more than others, some events more than others. I am glad you did not have to go through that and now we will encourage Cristy to stay away from that evil cake !!!
