Re: How Long Can You Go???
Hey Cristy! I literally printed out every single recipe on Linda's site (do you know about that one?) and put it all in a binder. I'm starting to add in some of the recipes from here. That, along with my cookbooks from Dana Carpenter, George Stella and Suger-Free Sheila, I have recipes until the end of time!!
Big love to all,

Re: How Long Can You Go???
Dolphin, I'm sorry you were feeling dizzy and unwell. I can understand about the sweet taste to an extent...I taste it in my water and in foods on occasion, but because I'm a smoker I think it's a lot more subdued. The only thing I can suggest is that you get plenty of sleep tonight and see about adding some potassium to your regimine. I hope you start feeling better soon!
cristylp, it's NOT pointless to make these recipes for one person! I used to feel that way too, but I've learned something since then: portion control! I'm not usually making a recipe for one meal, but for several. When I make something new and yummy I get to have the leftovers for a couple of days afterwards. Things last longer and I get lots of good veggies this way.
Stacy, great job on kickin' the cream
Like you, I've copied a bunch of the recipes from Linda's site...they're wonderful! I really need to look in to getting SugarFreeSheila's books.
Welcome Bernieann and tiajuanna! Great job on being cheatfree! Grab a button and join the convo!
I took a nap this afternoon and it's so HOT. I can't wait until summer is over. I still have to eat dinner and then do some shopping late late tonight. I solomnly swear not to cheat, while I'm in that big ol' store, alone.

Thanks! I was good and didn't cheat.Originally posted by IhateMyFatkkat55, Just hang in there, a little cheat is really not worth it, you can do it!
I've been eating pork rinds for a couple of day and find I cannot stop eating once I've started so I am going to cut them out.... by the way do you know why we cant have to much of them????
Keep up the good work
I ate a few pork rinds and just skimmed them over some sour cream and it was really good! Yum!! Helped me make it through until supper.
I'm not sure about the pork rinds other than the sodium content. All that salt will make you retain fluid and I'm sure it is not good for you. I think the recommended daily allowance is 2,000 mg per day in the nutrition world.
Thanks for the encouragement!!

Re: How Long Can You Go???
I know what you mean. When I was single I rarely ever cooked.Originally posted by cristylpI've spent the last two hours copying recipes from here and making my own little cookbook. I think it will help a lot to have some new things to make and not be bored eating the same things over and over. That's been a challenge for me..... actually cooking. Sometimes it seems pointless for just one person. But I'm worth it!
In February I bought a cute binder and printed out a lot of recipes and put them in it. It is now by my microwave and I can look through it whenever I need to plan a meal.
Great minds!

Re: How Long Can You Go???
Ok. I am in. I have been on Induction since May but have had several slip ups with yesterday being the worst. Dinner at the in-laws and not ONE thing served without carbs (even the salad had Raspberry dressing!) So I figured at that point, might as well go crazy and I did. Funny thing is, I didn't feel the "high" I used to get from a binge. I just felt disapointed with myself. Anyway, I got up today and got right back in the saddle. I didn't have dinner because I wasn't hungry so I had the Mock Danish instead. Is that considered a cheat?
Question: I am trying to kick the diet coke but get TERRIBLE headaches. I have cut back to about 3/4 of a 20oz bottle over the course of a day but any less and I can't see straight. Any suggestions?
Looking forward to the support and keeping motivated. Who knows, maybe I'll even get out and exercise??? Stranger things have happened.Starting Over!

Re: How Long Can You Go???
OMG... yes... those all look great! I've printed a few of hers but I'm going to go back and get all of them too. That's what I'm doing also, putting them in the clear protectors and binders. I don't have any of those other cookbooks but I plan on getting them. I'm truly amazed at the recipes I've seen. I used to think of low carb and imagined all I could ever eat was a plain piece of meat and veggies. I'm soooo excited!Originally posted by staziawHey Cristy! You've come so far, maybe we can all go the rest of the journey together cheat free!
I don't think the Mock Danish is a cheat unless it has something that is not allowed on Induction. I don't have the ingredients, so I wouldn't know right off hand.
On the Diet Coke...do you think you could wean yourself off by mixing it half and half with Diet Rite soda? It has Splenda in it and no caffeine. Eventually, you may start relying on that more than the Coke. Somehow you can taper it off and be prepared for the headaches. Possibly taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen the first day, which should be the worst.
How are you doing with your water? Whatever you drink that is not water, I'd make myself drink all my water first, then drink the other stuff. That way you'll get the water in for sure.
Anyway, welcome to our cheat free challenge! You can do this!!
