Re: Trick *NO* Treats CHART and REPORTING
Take away my treats...I don't deserve them. It's time to face the music, the slapping, and the kick in the bumm...
Confession time...I made beef stew this weekend with a beef roast, onion, green beans, tomato & potatoes. The idea being birthed by my son's scout den requiring a nutrition & fitness week, involving DS tracking all he eats & drinks for 1 week. Well, the week being nearly over, he had yet to eat a single vegetable! I though for sure I'd get at least some green beans in him if I could get him started on the pot roast.
Nope! He ate the meat and a few of the potatoes, picked out every bit of onion & tomato, & left the rest to stare at me. Ok, so I put as much of the potatoes in a container as I could fish out of the well-cooked stew (plus from his leftovers) and froze them. Ok so far, but the I ate 2 bowls of the remaining stew, and went to bed. When I got up I couldn't wait to have some more, and ate the rest of the potful - with potato bits in the broth included...and it was a BIG POT.
This was originally like a 3 1/2 lb roast, 1 onion, 3 tomatoes, 1/3 gallon green beans, and 4 potatoes. Take away 1 slice of roast & about 3 potatoes worth, and I at all the rest in less than 24 hours. Plus about 1 cup shelled pistachios, some pork skins & 2 hardboiled eggs.
Needless to say, the broth from my first bowl full must have had significant starch from the potatoes cooked in it to set off a binge. It could have been worse, and I am now dealing with the dreaded "I've blown it, may as well go for broke" mentality. I know this time of year is going to be even harder for me still, as the harvest has begun and I hate to say no to someone's offer of fresh fruit or seafood.
I'm afraid I may need to go back to induction to make it through. Cravings are bad today - maybe a couple of days fasting could work instead, but I'll see how it goes today.
So far, 2 boiled eggs & 3 hotdogs, no veggies on account of so much yesterday. And I feel so bloated, I don't need to weigh to know I've scre$#%^wed up.
