Can you do it :confused ? I am going to do it :yes . I haven't cheated since, June 30, 2004, and I am not going to break my record on Thanksgiving.

I have so much to be thankful for.
    1. I have found that I can loose weight with this WOE
    2. I have made such great progress, 79 pounds gone. As of today.
    3. I have made friends with all you good people. This site is such a treasured part of my life now.
    4. I am thankful for each and everyday the good Lord gives me, and I plan on making the best of it.

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Okay. Becky Sue - I'm in. It will not be easy. but I'm in. I hope other Atkins people join too. It will be great to have to answer to each other. I'm invited out that day. Now I know that I can look this up, but I'd like to get a "for instance" from you. Give me an example of what kinds of food you will have. Don't forget that I am still on induction and will probably be then. Thanks.

I am still on Induction for the past 16 months. I have been putting lots of thought to what I can prepare. All my family members are dieting, so this will help.
How about some suggestions from others on what they are making to keep on plan.

      So far I am cooking,
Baked turkey. I am going to attempt to make some mock dressing made from pork rinds. I got the recipe from a friend. I may make some before to see if it is good or not.
I will have raw veggies on a tray, like green onions, celery, bell peppers(green and red),cauliflower, broccoli, radishes, maybe have some ranch dressing for dip for the ones that can have it on their plan.
This is as far as I have thought, but you can bet I will have it all planned out in time. WE HAVE TO ALWAYS BE PREPARED, WITH A PLAN TO SUCCEED

Suggestions from others is much appreciated.

I just have to say, "I'm in!" I have no intention of cheating and I'm bringing some good low-carb stuff to my brother's house to supplement the turkey, green beans, and salad.
        Happy Turkey Day!

Thank you so much for the tip! I'll definately be checking out those recipes! I tried looking on the Atkins website, but anytime I tried to look at Thanksgiving or Christmas recipes, I'd get nothing! I could view the other recipes....but nothing to do with the holidays. Isn't that weird???

                    I'm in!

And 2big is right, join us in the recipe section for Thanksgiving ideas!

Becky Sue, we may have different tastes but IMHO the stuffing made with pork rinds is HORRIBLE! (and I really like pork rinds so that's not the problem!) Check out the recipe section, there are a couple of yummy sounding meat stuffing recipes! And if you do try the pork rind one, let us know what you thought!

I wasted money making the pork rind dressing. I seasoned it like my favorite dressing. It smelled like dressing, It looked like dressing, it tasted like sh*t, or at least what I imagine sh*t would taste like. :yikes . Really it was the feel of that fat all plumped up and chewy that bout made me barf!! :anger

Don't waste your money and time on pork rind dressing!!! You will regret it!!! :censor

I even got my DH to taste it, wasn't that mean of me! He said it was terrible too.

Kinda like the statement,"Man!!! this stinks!!!" Here smell this! You are crazy to take a whif of it.

We aren't having dressing on Thanksgiving!!!! :sadblinky

Who needs any of the high carb garbage when you can have:

A juicy turkey thigh and drumstick with all the crisp, crackly skin, lightly seasoned with garlic salt and pepper and spices

Twice baked cauliflower fauxtatoes with plenty of cream cheese and real cheddar cheese melted on top, with bacon bits

A beautiful turkey gravy thickened with heavy cream and Xanthan gum or psyllium powder or ThickenThin

Green beans with hot bacon and lemon dressing

Salad with rich blue cheese dressing, onions and Splenda candied walnuts

Faux baked yams (actually pumpkin) with DiabetiSweet glaze and Splenda-cinnamon candied pecans

Perfect low carb cornbread spread with creamy butter (can't tell it from the real thing), recipe in Low Carb Cooking Lessons

Don't have Thanksgiving here but I just saw an interesting sausage stuffing recipe from the "Low Carb 'n Lowing it " show from food network. I figure those recipes are on foodnetwork.com.

I also just bought PreventionGuide Low Carb Holiday Recipes. They are all under 25g so you will need to choose which ones for your particular Atkins stage. All the nutritiional info is there.

Some examples: Stuffed mushrooms, orange and sage roast turkey breast with pan gravy, roasted cauliflower with nutty lemon mustard, spiced pumpkin cheesecake (I tried this one this week, pretty good), almond delights.

If you do need any of these just pm me. I would recommend you find this magazine issue as all the recipes sound quite festive and yummy.

                          EDIT
