  • DON'T DWELL ON IT and then DWELL ON IT!

I would just like to put this out there, some food for thought.

I've been known to beat myself up for weeks at a time over something stupid I've done, eaten, worn, said, not said. Why is it so much easier to dwell on the bad things? Who knows. Let it go already! Do yourself a favor today, refuse to dwell on what hasn't gone as planned! Do the same thing tomorrow!

Now for the DWELL ON IT part. I love seeing posts in here about that one day, that one meal where someone successfully got through a tough spot and stayed true to their goal! DWELL ON THOSE MOMENTS! Don't let them pass without a celebration. Why do they have to be fleeting, and so easily forgotten? Those battles are noteworthy. For a moment, I feel strong, and then eventually it passes, because I don't feed it. Feed that moment of strength with positive thinking. Dwell on THAT for days on end, and don't let go of that strength so quickly. Say I did it, I feel great, I feel better for it, I can do this, I am in control! Hold onto that moment of strength for dear life and make it feel wanted. Drag out that good feeling of accomplishment and take a picture in your head so you never forget it, everyone says pictures last longer!

Thanks, Jasmain. I needed to hear that. On my 4th day I broke down and ate something I shouldn't have. I dusted myself off and jumped right back on, but I'm seriously beating myself up over it.

Thanks for making me see it was a slip but it's over.

You know, the choice to change your WOL and WOE is a big one, you're changing two very HUGE things in one big swoop! Who said it was going to be perfect and easy? Didn't your mama tell you there would be days like these?

One slip doesn't make your day, your week, your life. It doesn't negate all the good you've done for yourself. Staying in the pit of despair and self beating DOES make your day, your week, your life.

I have a new journal that I bought that I love staring at! It has a quote from George Eliot on the front of it, something like, "It is never too late to become what you could have been."

      Amen George!
