    Hello fellow Memorial Day losers!

I see we have many new faces and losers in the mix this week! Nice! I'm sorry I have been MIA for a bit over the past couple of weeks. My DD got sick over Christmas and things rolled down hill from there for my family along with having to attend family gatherings all this week. I think we got our fill of family visiting for a year.

Sher80 left a post a page or two back that she will be coming back and updating the list. So, i would say keep posting and think postive towards your goals!!!

    From Sher80
Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I am the one who is keeping track of people doing this challenge, thanks to those who updated lists. Awesome job to those who've lost. I will go through all posts (after Christmas) and give the fully updated lists with reported weight loss.

    Merry Chrsitmas to ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the calender the next weigh in's are:
    January 4th
    January 18th

Let's keep in mind that it's so important to gauage weight loss by inches and the amount of weight in a month's time instead of on a daily basis; like some of us (me) like to do anyways (lol).

I'll be popping in when I get a chance over the next month when I got back to school, but I do have my calender marked to pop in on those days for sure!

Hope everyone has an awesome New Year! Stay safe...and don't party too hard!

Woo Hoo!!!! I went under my mini-goal today, so we'll call that officially MET! 181.7 - the lowest weight I have been in over 11 years...

Maybe that 178 by Jan 13 IS possible... (if I can watch my exercise and portion size while I'm travelling in the US - the travel sometimes stalls me....).

How do others handle travelling for work? I don't cheat at all, but the food is more rich, and larger portioned, and eaten later, and exercise.... whoo, I'm usually too tired...

Any suggestions? I am going to US (from Denmark) week of Jan 8, then returning on Friday and leaving Saturday for China to see my daughter (YEAH YEAH!). I really really want to be firm, and at 178 by then....

For today - celebration of a MAJOR goal for me met!

        Kacey, that's awesome! Congratulations!

As for travel, I don't have much good advice but I deal with it regularly. Yes, I do eat later, but eating out I find lots of Atkins-friendly choices. Lots of steak or seafood and salad, usually. I agree -- hard to bring myself to exercise. In fact, I can honestly say that while I've brought my workout clothes on my last few trips, I haven't used them once! I hope to change that in the new year though (have a couple trips coming in January), as I'm trying to make exercise a non-negotiable part of my life. For me, that means doing it in the mornings because, like you, I'm just too tired (or lazy) at night.

Best of luck, and congrats again!

Ahhh Adena - If I could count the times I've lugged my workout clothes and shoes to other locations.... and they've sat in my suitcase! It seems like when you travel everyone wants to go out late, then you are tired because you've been travelling, then you have the extra burden of unpacking, repacking, different bath, etc. so it takes you longer to get ready... Then you have to go somewhere to eat breakfast, more time.... And some how exercise gets a miss....

It's a bad excuse I know because I see guys jogging all over the place from some of the hotels.... I agree - New Years should see me commit myself more to exercise when not at home!!!

          Thanks for your reply!

Great job on meeting your mini goal Kacey! Well travelling in the states I would recommend eating just half the food on your plate. Depending on how "fancy" the place is you could ask for a "doggy bag" and put half the meal in it at the start of the meal. You could take this with you(if you had somewhere to reheat it later) or just leave it.

My dh finds the doggy bag thing so funny! Here if you asked for that the waiter would be like "WHAT??!!"

Anyone else ready for the upcoming weigh-in? I won't be able to get a weigh in until Saturday because I'm to heavy for my home scales right now(they go to 300). I'm setting a mini goal for myself to be able to weigh on them by Valentine's Day. To help stay on pace, I've decided to increase excercise as much as possible, drink at least 100 ounces of water per day, stay away from processed meats(lunch meat....bad about salt and hidden sugar), and control my cheese portions(which includes cutting out cream cheese all together....I have a horrible weakness for it and am bad about starting out to eat just a little and ending up scarfing down the entire container.) I'm pretty sure I have about the most to lose of our group....and I set myself a big goal, but I know that if I stay strict I can do this. I'm glad to have you all and I look forward to wowing you with the progress I'm about to make. Good Luck to all!!!

jt, you can do this! I love how you set up small minigoals for yourself. That is the way to go. Those minigoals are definitely attainable.

How is everybody doing? I hope you were all successful over the holiday weekend.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy New Year! I’ve been off work since December 22 and had to go back to work today. My holiday’s were good, even went through Christmas w/o cheating, until, December 27. Yes, I messed up…I cheated from the 27th through the 31st. Needless to say, I am back in induction, back to work, back to my routine!!!

I hope everyone else’s Christmas and New Year’s was great!

I breezed right through the holiday weekend without any problems. Actually yesterday I was a little low on food, gotta watch that.

I'm not weighing yet, at least until my induction is over. But I can tell things are looser - I can't wait to weigh!
