I am interested but also have the fear! I am a total scale addict. Twice a day is not rare for me Can anyone offer reassurance for the following: How will I know that I've not gone wrong somewhere if I don't weigh myself at least once a week?! For background I had worked up to the wine and spirits rung before Xmas, but couldn't control food intake easily for 2 weeks over Xmas and went totally off plan (and I mean totally). SO I'm coming back to induction for 3 weeks and then working up again.
I weighed myself yesterday (1st) had gained. Also I'd just like to add I feel awful - carbs just aren't worth feeling this horrible (is first day of re-induction).
Also, want cool graphic, obv.

I had a run-in with alcohol too, over Christmas break, and yes it troubles me too that I won't weigh to check myself. What I'm doing is sticking around a certain number of carbs each day to sort of wean myself back to what I was doing pre-holiday, a number that I KNOW will allow me to lose weight.
I'm also going to keep track of my measurements, and I have this pair of jeans that don't fit that I will use--I'll keep checking to see if they fit better each week. I'm at a wierd point anyway where I've been gaining muscle, and losing fat and inches, but the scale is remaining quite static.
Baarb, I'm doing the same things as Julie... measurements and a pair of tight jeans. Also, you might be reassured if you buy and use Keto stix regularly. That will help you to be assured you are indeed in ketotis -- fat burning mode!
Believe me, I'm a daily weigher (yes, sometimes twice a day), too. If (I mean WHEN) I complete this challenge, that will be a major feat for me. But, I'm trying to trust in the program and really focus on my execise, which can wreak havoic on the scale. So, I'm letting go... if you try the measurements and clothing route, it should help to reassure you that you are moving in the right direction.
Yesterday morning(before joining the challenge) I got on the scale. Then at night when I weighed(in order to be able to hold my daughter and see how much she had gained) it was up 7lbs! I only weigh myself first thing in the morning, after going to the bathroom(and in bra and underwear).
It was difficult to go past the scale today but I did!

Restarted yet again 2/24/10

First goal-to get under 200 and NEVER see a 2 as the first number on the scale again!
Maggie is modest! I'm naked as a jaybird when I weigh. Heck, if I go to the bathroom before I weigh (which I always do) I make sure my hands are COMPLETELY dry before I hop on the scale...don't need to add more "water weight!"
Uh, and that's completely dry from washing them. In the sink. Don't call me a Tigger. I'm not looking for Pooh in the toilet.
Uh, yeah, Julie... we all assumed that. But thanks anyway for the lovely mental picture and frightening analogy that will stay with me for a long time.
Okie Im real reluctant here......but Im in!! There I said it lol. That was almost as hard as having to do it. Im really nervous if I can go that long, but I would LOVE to weigh myself for the first time in a new house and JUMP FOR JOY!!!! I am doing this. Our closing date is January 31...so it seems like a calling to me lol. Anyway, hope you dont mind me joining a little late, Ive benn hemming and hawing this for a few days, and now Im just curious if I can show myself Im strong enough!
Schellie -- I promise you, I'm right there with you. Giving up the scale will be about as hard as giving up sugar was. But, we can do it! Use other ways to measure your progress....
... take your measurements, and compare each week.
... try on a something that's a little too small, and then try it on throughout the month and watch yourself shrink into it.
... use keto stix to reassure you that you're staying in ketosis.
You can do this -- and it might even be fun! Congratulations on your new house.
SCHELLIE! Yay, another one rides the bus! Oh wait, that's another one bites the dust...
What I mean to say is, I'm so happy you're joining the challenge! Now all you have to do is send your 7 monthly payments of $19.95 (plus $5 shipping and handling) and pick a spot for your JWNWC tattoo, courtesy of Miami Ink. I'd go for the thigh or the abdomen, as it's quite an expansive tattoo. I put mine on my (_)_).
....because BABY GOT BACK! (Adena, that reference is for you!)
