    Whoa... look at his muscles...
    Sorry.... just a temporary distraction!

Thank you Joy! That was really helpful! My girlfriend showed me
the "dip" exercise once. She said if I did that everyday, I would
have incredible triceps. It's a hard one (for me)... but, if I started
with just 5 everyday I bet I could build up.

I'm going to start adding them into my workout too Cher. I've never done them.

        Howdy everyone!

Cher, I'm actually doing great. Thanks for asking. As soon as my baby takes her first nap, I run for my tennis shoes and get on the eleptical. I managed to crank it up to 45 minutes instead of my usual 30. I'm doing a different program every day so that my body doesn't get used to it. I've drank about 100 oz of water so far and followed the plan to the best of my knowledge. I do have some more question for you or anyone here who would be so kind to reply. I know this info is in the book somewhere, just haven't made time to find it.

        1. Can you add pieces of bacon (like bacon bits) to the salad?
        2. What is that fat/protein/carb ratio again? I really gotta memorize that one since I followed your advise and started to record what I eat on FitDay.
        3. Do you recommend a specific food scale to measure carbs, i.e, veggies
        4. The ham that I buy says less than 1 carb per serving (slice). Up to how many a day can I eat of those?
        5. What are you all favorite snacks during induction?
        6. Are porkrings actually o.k? How many pieces a day? (Do you include them in the fat ratio?
        7. How do I upload my pic here? (Sorry! Not too computer literate)

          Elsy, here are some answers!

          1. YES! Go for REAL bacon, the stuff is great, as it's protein and fat combined. Try to stay away from those frankenfood bacon bits that are crunchy. Use real bacon!
          2. 65% fat, 5% carbs, 30% protein.
          3. I don't use a food scale...someone else will have to answer that one!
          4. MOST of your carbs should come from veggies, and the remainder from cheese and special foods (like sour cream, olives, etc.) It might be best to cut it out completely, but you should definitely limit yourself to 1 or 2 servings a day and make sure you COUNT the carbs in your daily totals.
          5. Pepperoni crisps, cheese crisps, fake cinnamon toast crunch, celery and dip, pepperoni and mozzarella with green pepper and oregano, egg salad, omelet, bell pepper strips.
          6. What the heck are porkrings? Sounds like some sick Atkins version of fruit loops. Do you mean pork RINDS?
          7. Get an account at www.photobucket.com and upload your photo there. Once uploaded, copy the bbcode (should have IMG tags) and paste into the post of your choice.

            Thanks Juli

Great! I think you just cleared some of my doubts. Yes, I meant pork rinds. It was a typo. Sorry! Can you eat those? How many? After all they are 0 carbs.

I was under the impression that pepperoni crisps were not recommended during induction. I love them too but I didn't buy any for the same reason.

I'm glad somebody ELSE wondered what that girl in the pink pants was doing in the background...

For biceps I do concentration curls, and hammer curls. For triceps I do dips, and cable extensions. In boot camp, we do a lot of bicep curls and tricep kickbacks and various other torturous exercises.

Elsy... Julie gave you great answer to your questions... she's so helpful!
It sounds like you're doing incredibly well with your exercise routine. I've always heard that making it a little different every day helps to break down the fat faster so I'm excited to see how it works for you. I'm really glad you started using Fitday. Almost everyone on this site uses it - it's a great tool, I can't believe it's free - YaY!

During induction keep your overall carb count down to 20 grams per day. You can track that in Fitday. I would check the ham for sugar content... if sugar is in one of the ingredients listed then I would replace the ham that you're eating with another ham that doesn't contain sugar. Unfortunately, any type of sugar can cause cravings or will stall you. Usually that is why the carb count is higher on certain meats.

I also never worry about measuring my food via a scale. You can just use a measuring cup to measure your veggies or salad.

If you can find it, try to use bacon or deli meat without nitrates. We have it here in CA. at almost any grocery store.

Great going on the 100 ounces of water. Does anyone remember what the quota is per pound? I know Jimmie knows the answer to this...

64oz plus 8oz for every 25lbs is what I've heard as a minimum. I drink over a gallon a day...
